So Saturday at Brunch with my friend she suggested we go next door and I try on wedding dresses. I have never tried on a dress before I have actually been trying not to look since I know it can be easy to fall in love with one and then not love it once it is on you. So since I have no clue what dresses would flatter me I tried on all types of dresses. Pretty much narrowed down what flatters and what doesnt. I was trying not to try on dresses until I got to at least my half way weight loss goal but that didn't happen. I like 4 dress out of all the ones I tried on but how do you know one is THE dress. Maybe I haven't found the one but I felt like i was very critacal of myself in all the dresses even the ones I liked. For those of you who found your dress did you have this before find THE one?

Tried on Dress for the first time
I did! I had a terrible experience when I went with my mom, sister, and bridal party to Davids Bridal. I knew I was going 'for fun' but ended up being so discouraged. I wasn't seeing anything that I really liked (but that was also the attendants fault) and I was feeling really upset. At the end I was like 'I'm done - I can't try on any more dresses. It's too freakin hot!'
I ended up find my dream dress by MYSELF! It was great though. I knew exactly what I wanted, tried it on and fell in love. You know!

Tried on Dress for the first time
I originally wanted a ballgown but the consultant I worked with at the first place put me in a fit and flare gown. I fell in love with it instantly and figured out that fit and flare/mermaid was the way to go. Don't worry though. I tried on approximately 50 dresses before I found the one yesterday. I was so critical of every dress I tried on and ended up loving parts of the dress but hating the rest. That made it extremely hard. When I tried THE dress yesterday, everything just felt right and I felt great in it. I think a part of the reason is because I had such a great consultant who was able to narrow down the dresses with me. She was constantly asking questions about me, my FH, and the wedding to get an idea of what would look great - something that no other consultant did at the other places I went to. Even it takes a while to find your dress, don't give up and don't get frustrated. Be open minded and don't be afraid to try EVERY type of dress. Sometimes what doesn't look good on the hangers may end up looking great on you. You will find it!
Whew, that was long. Hope this helps.

Tried on Dress for the first time
I had no plans to even try on wedding dresses saturday my girlfriend convinced me to. So it was just me and my best friend since I was 9 so she is like my sister. I was nervous and had no clue what I wanted. It was fun but I was just so critical of myself in each dress. Like I liked some but I wasn't 100% this is THE dress. I went to bayshore bridal suite in bayshore. jsh109 where did you go?

I checked out Village Bridals, Bridal Reflections in Carle Place, and the Wedding Salon of Manhasset. I ended up finding my dress at the Wedding Salon of Manhasset.

I feel like I will most likely go to a few more places I am hoping to find THE dress or get that this is the one dress.

Definitely check out multiple places. Each place has a different selection of dresses in different price ranges. Also, if there was a dress that I liked at one place, I took down the model number and checked to see if they had that dress at another price so that I could compare prices. It's an exhausting process but you will find the one!
