okay..so it wont zip all the way...side zipper and gets stuck at my rib cage. seamstress said it can be let out (i think its an inch or less). Dont have a fitting until october so perhpas i can lose a few pounds by then? I have a pretty 'average' figure..(size 6..never have to alter things)..how strange that it would be tight there and fit perfectly everywhere else...
anyone else had this kind of problem?

I was told by a seamstress that I have wide ribs for my frame... I feel your pain.

whew..i feel so much better..but geesh...my RIBS are too wide? miracoulsy, hips fit just fine! are you getting yours taken out?

I bought a sample size dress that was too small...I was REALLY nervous but they let it out like like 2-3' and it came out beautifully.

Your dress isnt by chance Oleg Cassini is it? I had the same exact problem and I know for a fact it is a common problem with my dress. I was planning on having my dress taken out like you say, but I ended up losing like 20 lbs (alot stress related..believe me I am not bragging) and now I dont.
I dont think the problem is you...it is probably a quirk with the dress.

that happened to my friend too! exact thing. everything fit perfectly except around her ribs. they fixed it and she looked GORGEOUS!

That happened to me! My dress fits me everywhere except the zipper doesn't go up all the way....like the top three inches or so. I was so worried that I gained like a ton of weight, but I'm a size 4 and there's really nothing fat on my back...what's there is skin and bones. I guess I'm like you and have wide ribs. I haven't tried on my dress since May and I'm really hoping I lost just a little weight so I don't have the zipper issue anymore.

mine was so tight on my boobs that they let it out a quarter of an inch on each side and it fit perfectly after that... i would imagine that everyone has one part of the body that never really fits into one size perfectly
