Re: tropical storm Barry
I like storms during the day in the summer. I don't like them at night though.

When you know they aren't going to be THAT bad they can be exciting. FH and I went to Florida 3 years ago. We arrived in Orlando seriously an hour before Charlie hit. We couldnt leave the hotel, they gave us flashlights in case. The roof to the IHOP across the street came off, luckily no one got hurt. It was definitely an experience

My FH went down to Florida yesterday morning to start flight school. he called me this morning while driving through Barry. We just moved up from the Caribbean and after 2 years only saw one tropical storm! Now he's gone less than 24 hours to learn how to FLY and he's encountered his first storm already! Is this an omen??!?

Those storms are crazy and very scary. Hurricane Katrina prevented me from going to my good friends bachlorette party in West Palm Beach/Miami, I was scared to fly down there while the hurricane was getting stronger and stronger , *****!!!!! note: dont plan go to the south during hurricane season

when I was younger I used to get so excited when there were huricane warnings. I'd get all the flashlights together, gather batteries, and candles and a radio, and make a tent out of an old blanket. It was always a very exciting time. We used to have a house right on the beach, there was some crazy stuff during huricanes... like little tornados going down the beach and stuff. One year our neighbor's house got turned around. a full 180 turn. they wound up leaving it that way b/c they had a front and back door! it was crazy.
