Trouble with Bridal Suite/Patchogue

Anybody order BM dresses from the Bridal Suite in Patchogue? I'm having trouble getting them to give me a straight answer as to when my BM dresses will arrive. They are already late (my wedding is in 3 weeks) and 2 of my bridesmaids live out of state and won't be arriving here until the day before the wedding so if I can't get them the dresses soon ....

Any suggestions as to how to get them to tell me the truth?

And, though it has been said before on this board, if you are orderigyour gowns, lie about your wedding date. Make it three weeks earlier than your actual day so you have enough time!

Re: Trouble with Bridal Suite/Patchogue

That really stinks that they won't give you a straight answer. I would say you will have the best luck going in person, and talk to the manager or owner only.

I don't think I would trust them with the alterations either. I would go somewhere else.

Maybe someone on this board knows someone that works there that may be able to get a straight answer????

Sorry, I can't be more helpful.

Re: Trouble with Bridal Suite/Patchogue

I ordered my BM dresses from them. Try calling and ask for Tracey or Bee (shes the owner) they have always been really helpful with me. Let me know what happens!!

Re: Trouble with Bridal Suite/Patchogue

You can speak with Bea who is the owner but I wish you a lot of luck. I had a terrible time with then last year for my wedding. Alterations not done correctly, things that were supposedly ordered not coming in (my headpiece and veil and my MOH gloves) etc. My best suggestion is to let Bea know and call her every day, several times a day until you get a straight answer. That's what I did. I hated being that way, but I found with this store that is all that works.

Re: Trouble with Bridal Suite/Patchogue

My brothers wedding was last week and we got our bm dresses there as well as her wedding dress...the place was just a nightmare to deal with!!! They call it a cap on their alteration charges but than tried to charge me an extra $30 for items that they say are not included in the cap...3 of their sales people told me it wasn't included than when the bride called bea she said of course they are included nobody would ever say they weren't...WHATEVER!!!! anyway...the dresses came in about 3 weeks late but that wasn't too bad because we ordered them early. The bride has 2 cousins in the bridal party from out of state so she went in to get there dresses to ship them to the girls and that's when they told her that they had to return a couple of the dresses to the manufacture because of damages to them, they said that they looked over all of the dresses and that the rest were fine...WELL....I go 4 weeks before the wedding for my 1st fitting and they take my dress out and there are spots all over the top!!! it looked like someone wore it out spilled sh** all over it and than brought it back to the store! They told me that there was no way because of the timing that they could get me a new top (the dress was seperates) so they used some dry cleaning chemicals to get the junk out! so, now I am paying full price for a cleaned dress...well, the spots did come out but everytime someone would go in for a 2nd fitting there would be something on there dress!!! Even her wedding gown!!! I went with her for her 3rd fitting and there were spots all over the bodice. They told us that it was water spots!!! There should be absolutely no chance of that happening in a bridal salon!!! so, my question is where do they store their dresses!!! anyway...they had so many stories and lies for every occurance that happened!!! after the first fitting for some of the girls the alterations that were supposed to be done weren't! And everytime I went there there was at least one set of girls with some sort of complaint about them!!! I would never go back there again!!!

Re: Trouble with Bridal Suite/Patchogue

Ack! I keep hearing more stories about this place every time I go to the shop. Last time I was there a bride's mother had to bring backa BM dress because it hadn't been pressed.

Thanks for the suggestions. I am sending my maid of honor there today, and if she doesn't get any info, I am going there tomorrow myself. I'll let you know what happens, but let all our stories be a warning to other brides about this shop!

So far I've had no trouble with my gown, knock wood, but that's probably because I only need one tuck at the top of my dress, nothing else. I think I may see about picking it up earlier just in case there are problems.

Re: Trouble with Bridal Suite/Patchogue

Someone made a comment (for a late wedding dress) to call the manufacturer...

I have never dealt with them, but a few years ago, my cousin's BM dresses weren't in 2 weeks to go to the wedding. (a store upstate) and they did rush them in and my mom did our alterations...and everything turned out fine for the wedding...

are they owned by the same people as the Bay Shore one? I had a fantastic experience with them...maybe they would do you alterations?

Re: Trouble with Bridal Suite/Patchogue

I don't think it's the same owner. The problem is that my girls won't be here the week of the wedding, which is why they need to get the dresses next week so they can get them done where they live.

I'm hoping to get a definitive answer today. I will try calling the manufacturer in the meantime (I sent an e-mail and faxed them the details, but no info yet).

Re: Trouble with Bridal Suite/Patchogue

I would definitely go there in person. I ordered my dress from Bridal Suite in Bayshore. It was late, I kept calling and calling and getting the runaround. When I finally went in, with a little attitude they got on the phone with the manufacturer, got shipping and tracking information and found out when it was going to be there. I called them on the day it was supposed to come in and it was there.

Sometimes a face to face 'confrontation' works best...let us know what happens!!

Re: Trouble with Bridal Suite/Patchogue LONG

FYI...The Patchogue and Bayshore Bridal Suites are NOT owned by the same person.

I was in three weddings two years ago, and all three brides chose to have us buy the BM dresses from Patchogue Bridal Suite. They were OK to deal with initially BUT the alterations were horrible. Not one of the dresses fit me properly! I would ask them to take it in a little more here, etc. but the problem is that it's like a factory...they are always busy! Their hours for alterations are so limited, that everyone has to come in at once! And when you are assertive and ask them to fix something, they act like your crazy! Needless to say, my last time there was no different and I was completely frustrated. I had two alteration appts. for my dress and when I went to go pick it up, I asked if I could try it on and they said 'It's too busy, there are no rooms available.' I shouldn't have taken the dress home at that point but I thought 'I had two fittings, it must be fine.' Well, I got home and the dress looked ridiculous! It was as if they hadn't even done the second alterations! I called the store back and asked if they could please let me come back and have them fix it. The person that answered the phone put me on hold (but I could hear everything), and the owner, Bea said 'She must be crazy if she thinks that she can come back, we are entirely too busy to deal with her.' We went back and forth but there was nothing I could do. So, I wore a dress that did not fit me at all for my best friend's wedding, and I was miserable.

On the other hand, I had a great experience at the Bayshore Bridal suite. My alterations were PERFECT and the dress looked amazing on.

I will never deal with Patchogue Bridal Suite again!!!Just a warning!

Re: Trouble with Bridal Suite/Patchogue LONG

I agree with you! Unfortunately, when you go into order or try on your gown, you don't see what's going on in the back room--I wish I knew about this board before I went there in the first place. If I knew then what I knew now! I'm just so glad my dress didn't need major work!

On the good news side, my MOH just got back from the BSuite and finally got the tracking number and the dresses are somewhere in New Jersey. They said the manufacturer moved, which is why they had trouble reaching them, which I find a little hard to believe. I will report on how the dresses look (Impressions) when I pick them up, hopefully on Tuesday!

Have any of you had dealings with the receptionist there?Every time I've been in the store and a bride called in to see about her gown the receptionist would roll her eyes, give a dirty look, then after she'd hang up act like the bride was crazy for checking on her dress!

Re: Trouble with Bridal Suite/Patchogue LONG

I have posted before about how terrible my experience with Patchogue Bridal Suite. Initially they were wonderful to deal with, they even stored my dress for me for a year at no charge. However other than that it was terrible. I ordered my headpiece and veil and they never bothered to check on it. When I began questionning where they were I was told not to worry they were on the way. I waited and they never came. Well to make a long story short, I eventually found out that they had never ordered them and the manufacturer went out of business. They had to have it custom made using the sample as a guide. The overcharged me by $70.00 on my daughter's MOH dress and the alterations on her dress were not only improperly done, but so poorly done that the dress actually split during the reception. I was made to wait more than 2 hours for my final fitting and my dress was not done even then. I never had time to go back and try it again and on my wedding day when I began tripping over the lining of my gown I discovered that it was almost an inch longer than the rest of my dress. Do not wait to follow up on your bridesmaids dresses. Keep on top of them as much as you can. Good luck.

Re: Trouble with Bridal Suite/Patchogue LONG

Thanks, Wendy. I'm sorry that happened to you!
Now that I have the tracking number, I know the dresses are actually in route to the store this morning. Of couse, I have no guarantee that MY dresses are in the shipment.

I did finally get a call back from Tracy on Friday who apologized and said they had finally tracked down the manufacturer after days of trying because they had moved and their lines were out/busy for two days.

What upset me was them first telling me the dresses had shipped on July 18, then saying no, they shipped on the 24. Then when I look at the UPS site, it actually shows that the dresses didn't ship until July 29! If my bridesmaids weren't out-of state, this wouldn't phase me as much. On the one hand, though, I'm glad the altering of their dresses will be done by someone else, based on what I've heard hear about the bad alterations you other brides have experienced!

Re: Trouble with Bridal Suite/Patchogue LONG

My dresses arrived yesterday afternoon
I've shipped out my niece's dress today. It is one size larger than she needed so she will need more altering but at this point I'm just so relieved they are here! Now I only hope that the other two girls who are having Patchogue do their alterations will be happy with the outcome!
