Troubled skin---> MAKEUP

Original post by radiantcut

ive been dealing with acne forever now. i have the most sensitive skin ever! i dont get breakouts anymore, but one tiny pimple can ruin my face for months (when it first comes out, dies down and then the redness it leaves behind which take so long to go away). ive done so much with it and its much better than before and now with laser hair removal its gotten better and i never wear makeup on my face anymore BUT

during my engagement party im going to need something really nice that wont break me out. im looking for natural coverage that will not melt off OR MOST IMPORTANTLY rub off on my guests when i go to hug or kiss them and leave stains on their outfits (HOW EMBARASSING!!).

Anyone know of any brands or tips on application?

im not sure if im going to hire someone for that, but want to have the option to do it myself. thanks! xoxo

Proactive was TOO harsh for me-very very sensitive skin but I used what my makeup artst siggested and nby myw edding my skinw as sooo much clearer and the etxture was a lot smoother.

I ahd one pimple the day of but it asn't so bad and my makeup went on so smoothly I was fine.

I used the Neutrogene Visibly even line. I LOVE their scrub. its nto harsh at all. I sue it daily. I use the microscurb once a week. And every night I use the deep penetratign cream (itsa tube). OIts prciey but works amazingly well cause its all antural. For day time I like the aveeno mosturizer. I use Loreal toner-forget the kind but its the green bottle. SOO mild and I never break out if I use it regularly.

Makeup I use the Loreal true match foundation. TEH BEST coverage for me and its cheap and I dont rbeak out.

I liked my Bare Minerals but when my skin is dry, it looked funny on me texturewise.

I have the same problem. I switched my makeup to Bare minerals - you can get the starter kit at
Ulta. It has been wonderful. Good luck

One thing you should know about Bare Minerals and any poweder makeup is the coverage IS flawless. I loved it because it was so light.

HOWEVER.... Its hard to wear in the summer or anytime you perspire. I am not a sweater. I never get those stained underarms and I rarely wear deoderant. I just don't perspire much unless its REALLY hot or Im excercising.

BUT... if you sweat even a little, you get streaks in the Bare Minerals makeup that are much more noticeable than in a cream/liquid foundation. In the light it looks faintly zebraish. In the summer I wear the Loreal True Match liquid foundation because they have soooo many shades (which i usually have issues with finding the right one) and they melt into the skin and I never breakout from it.-worst that happened on my wedding day was I looked 'dewy' but the Bare Minerals became a mess.

I do love Bare Essentuals for the winter and spring when it's cooler. You might want to test it out in both climates before the big day. See how it does.

If you're looking for blushes though, I reccomend the NARS line. LOVE THEM! best blushes ever and I have tried them all. I dont break out either. I have ****** (its a color most women can wear), Golda, (non shimmery peachy orange color that Eva Mendes wears) and Torrid(my usual sumemr color-some shimmer)

ps: i also know of an amazing AMAZING dermotologist in Queens. Let me know if u want his info. also, the pricing in most Bare Minerals Boutiques for a 'makeunder'(what they call a makeover) is the purchase of 3 products, or $60...whichever comes first.

next time i'm in QC mall i'm going to look for you for a makeunder! love bare minerals! [kind of hate that the brushes always shed though ]

I found this a whila ago on Mineral Makeup. If you have troubled skin, you should read b/f you go buy. It's always nice to hear both sides.

Jane Iredale is sold exclusively at plastic surgeons offices, spas (with a licensed esthetician) and dermotologist offices. It was originally created for post operative, ultra sensitive skin to calm, nourish and cover all flaws and scars and it really works! Now it is widely used in print and commercials due to it's outstanding coverage and light reflecting abilities (which is very important when you are being photographed).

You can find the nearest vendor at Where to buy- Jane Iredale Cosmetics
or you can purchase online at Jane Iredale Direct Website Everything purchased from their website is returnable (even if tested or used) and all orders include free samples! If you contact them via telephone, you will get a skincare specialist that will personally help you select the right products.

The liquid mineral foundation (Bare Escentuals does not make a liquid) is very heavily pigmented and provides maximum coverage with minimal product use. The pressed powder or loose powder foundations (they are the same product, but, the pressed is easier to travel with) provide excellent coverage as well (compareable to Bare Escentuals, just much more heavily pigmented). If you try any of the other products (blush, bronzer, eyeshadow, etc), you will also be very happy, as the color selection is vast and they are all extremely blendable and wearable and they last all day!

These products will last all day without any creasing, streaking, sliping, marking or staining clothing and you will not touch ups...

I know I sound like an ad for this makeup, but, it truly transforms your skin and face without feeling heavy and all of this makeup is very long lasting!

Good luck and let me know how it goes!

You must try Bare Minerals or Clinique's suberbalanced compact makeup. I used to use Bare Minerals everyday but I think my skin just sort of changed as I got older and it makes me get oily during the day. But I still recommend it, is just wasn't for me anymore. I switched to Clinique a few months ago and I barely get any breakouts! A lot of their products are oil and fragrance free (a must for my sensitive skin). I use the superbalanced makeup, and I don't get so oily anymore. I also use their makeup remover 'take the day off' and I think that really helps to remove all the stuff off my face. Then I use a very light exfoliating wash by a company I THINK is called naturopathica. I also use Clinique's moisture surge gel and it works so well. About once or twice a week I use Philosophy's microderm peel kit, which is just a really good exfoliant but be careful it can be harsh if you scrub too much! I hope this helps! And if, after trying your new regime for a few weeks, there is no change, then you should immediately go to a dermatologist, who may be able to prescribe a face cream or do a photofacial and take care of many problems.

Honestly u should try everything before you buy anything....and this comes from the girl who wrote you the RAVE about Bare Escentuals...the bottom line is, different stuff works for different people...you can go by what we tell you, you can go by what u read, but you need to try them out for urself. Also, i will say that if u go check out Bare - go to an actual Bare Escentuals Boutique....yes they sell the product at Ulta and sephora, but the staff at those stores are not specialists in the product..i can't tell you how many women we have come into our boutiques saying they either bought it there, off QVC, or off line BUT 90% of the time the color they bought is off, and they still need to be shown what does what & the proper technique on how to apply it..it helps when u have a professional who's trained with the product show you how to get the best benefits for you. good luck with everything! i hope u find something that works for you!
