Have you read the books?

I just finished the Second book last week. they are totally different from the series! Jason and Tara and practically nonexistent in the books! I need to get the third book ASAP! lol

Haha, the beginning of every season it pisses me off because before it starts I think 'Oh man, I can't wait for this to happen!' and then they leave that part out.

But then I get so into the show that I kinda separate it from the books.

What I don't like is how they change up the characters... like Franklin Mott seems to be more like Mickey. I think the vampire Chow was meant to be like Bubba, but they totally should've had Bubba in the show.

And I don't know how I feel about what they did with Claudine. I LOVED Claudine in the books, she's one of my fave characters. I hope they don't mess with her too much. And I want some Claude!

Seriously... CLaudine is supposed to be like super gorgeous... and i dont remember them having accents... i could be wrong about that though?

ETA: UGH... and Sams parents???? so annoyed by that too...

I feel like they haven't played up the Alcide/Sookie connection enough in the tv show. I looooooooooooooooooooved Alcide in the books.

I'm assuming claudine made an appearance last night?? (kinda early isn't it?)

I don't even know if I want to continue watching.. the books were great (until book 10) and to me the show is killing it! STICK TO THE DAMN BOOK!

Yeah I think the exact words Sookie uses to describe her in the books is a 'scrumptious sl*t, supersized' so I expected her to be taller. Actually, I expected her to look more like Maryann!

And I don't like that they are in that little other world. Claudine lives in Monroe and owns a strip club!

ETA: Megan- they are talking a lot about Sookie's blood and what IS she exactly so I can understand why they are throwing Claudine in the mix now!

I've been trying to read the books along with the show.... but they end up going in such diff directions.... Does anyone else get confused with what they saw in the show vs what was read in the book?!?!? I mix the 2 up all the time... maybe i shouldnt have tried to do both at the same time

I've been wanting to get into the books, but that is my fear~that I'll confuse the two.

I love the show and I love the books. The show is pretty awesome because yes it deviates from the books but it also fills in some holes where the author just touched upon some stories in the books.
Like with Eric's parents and how they died and that connection with Russell and how they show Russell trying to propose to the queen and they tell you what dirt he has on her that would make her actually concede and marry him. In the book they were both gay and it was like ok so what is going on why are they married?
I will say that the maenad was a little much last season though...I was done with her way before they killed her off.
