Trunk Shows?

What is really the benefit of going to a trunk show? There is a Jim Hjelm one about 45 minutes from my house in the beginning of July, and I've been stalking one of his dresses but it's WAY out of my price range. How big is the discount? Enough to make the trip worth it?

Usually it is around 10-15% if you call the salon they will tell you
