Try this brain teaser!

Try this brain teaser!

This is your brain teaser for the week.....

Take your time and follow the instructions.
After reading each window click on the boy in the lower right corner. You will be amazed....and no, I don't know how it's done, although I assume it's something that has to do with probability... I'm not a math whiz, so I still don't know how it works!!

Re: Try this brain teaser!

LOL! He was wrong for my number

Re: Try this brain teaser!

It has to do with the rule of inverted numbers - the difference is always divisable by 9.

i.e. if you enter 163 instead of 136, the difference 27 which you can divide by 9.

Since these numbers are being jumbled, the total of all the numbers in the difference are totalling 9. I tried it twice and the numbers I chose had a difference of 801 and 1080 - so the selected numbers can only be 8 or 1 - the other brings the total to 9 which is what the program guessed.

I don't know if that makes sense

Of course, Marcele just blew my theory out the window Can I ask what numbers you used?

Re: Try this brain teaser!

LMAO Christine..I picked 1666 BUT I have NO idea how I 'fooled' it

ETA: It said I picked 5. But that wasn't even one of my numbers.

Re: Try this brain teaser!

what did you jumble it to?
Marcela1654 Posted:

Re: Try this brain teaser!

6166

Re: Try this brain teaser!

I just went back again and realized it said to pick 3-4 nos with different nos. Instead I used 3 of the same no....Oh well That's probably why it didn't get my no. right

Re: Try this brain teaser!

It was going by the difference.

1666-6166 = 4500

You were supposed to circle one of these numbers but not the zero and type in the numbers you didn't circle. The cool guy would pick the number you circled.

ETS: I tried it with your numbers and he got it right both times

Sorry for being weird about it - this is something that would bug me for a while

Re: Try this brain teaser!

Oh DUH!! I thought I was supposed to circle a number from the original numbers.... I've been sick all weekend and a little delirious...Sorry Christine
