trying a new spa tonight! UPDATED WITH REVIEW!
I was not satisfied with my usual spa the last time I went in, so tonight I am trying Silk Day Spa for a facial. I will review it later! I want to get monthly facials, like I used to, because it always really helped my skin. Lately I have been so busy at work, I haven't had time to go, plus I needed to find a new place! The spa is in Union Square and I am going after work today, luckily they stay open til 9:30 or so.
UPDATE: the spa was great! (warning though it is pretty pricy, i would say it is even more expensive than Bliss) The locker/changing area is great, everyone gets their own locker, there is a place to do your hair, three big showers, and a steam room. There is also a relaxation area, lots of water and nice things to nibble on (jelly beans, sunflower seeds...) My facial was also great, I got the purity facial, which included a light peel, extractions, lots of face and upper body massaging, a mask and hi frequency. My skin is definitely smoother today! I totally plan on going back.
They also ask you a series of questions for your first time there - you can choose the type of music you want playing, how loud you want it, whether you like the room warmer or chilly, if you want your facialist to be chatty, quiet, or just tell you the facts... and no one tried to sell me anything AT ALL! My treatment even went 5 minutes over time, and nothing was rushed at all.
