Trying on dresses!!!

So I went to try on dresses for the first time with my Dad the other day and it was surprisingly fun. I went to Davids Bridal since they have a larger section of curvy girl dresses aka plus sizes. I am right on the border at about a 16 TRYING to get down to a 12 for the wedding ** fingers crossed**. In any event I wanted to find a dress that made me feel beautiful at any size. I will added a album with the pics so you can see the first dress is my Fave exactly what I said I wanted, mermaid style, lace and with a long train, second dress is complete opposite and my Dads pick very traditional bride A- Line with a very full skirt and lots of tulle. I like it but didn't LOVE it.

I'm with u looking the mermaid! I think beside shape the dresses are still completely different. The ball gown it's very plain and has no lace which I'm obsessed with.

You would look beautiful in either dress but it's clesr you love the mermaid with all the lace so I'd stick with that route! Yes you want your dad to love it to, but you're the bride and you have to wear it and feel amazinggg in it! It's the most special day of your life and you should feel it with everything! Especially your dress :)

Theyre both gorgeous! From reading your posts it sounds like you like the mermaid one more for yourself, so I'd say go that way. You want to wear your dress, not one that looks nice but doesnt feel like your pick.

Both look great! But I love lace so I like the mermaid better! It just depends what type of 'look' you want because they both look great on you.

I really love the second but if you look at my dress, I'm clearly bias haha. They both are beautiful but I just love ball gowns because honestly when can you ever wear one again?

First I just want to say how sweet was that! Dress shopping with dad. So adorable. As far as the dresses go they are both beautiful. This is your first round of dress shopping so you never know you might find another dress and who knows completely different style. I personally feel when you try on the dress (whether mermaid style or a-line) you will just know. Have fun sweetie! High-five to dad :)

well since this is ur first go round it may or may not be the one however another vote for the mermaid looks timeless and elegant! I'm a curvy chick too and mermaid dresses for some reason always looks so good on curves.

Thank you so much guys for the positive words! My Dad is awesome and he said he wants to be there when I choose THE dress. I am my Dad's only child but ultimately he wants whatever will make me happy. I will be doing another round (Or two!) So who knows. lol
