I want to go with some of my BM's and try on dresses for fun with no real intention to buy yet.... I want to do the actual shopping with my mom and FMIL. However I want to get a feel for what looks nice on me as far a styles and fit. Will bridal consultants get mad if you are just looking? Or should I just not tell them my intentions. Many people say oh that when I'll find something I love when I am not looking. My theory is if its meant to be it should be there a few months later....

i wouldn't tell them you are just looking bc they won't be too eager to help you....at least make them feel good and make them think they have a chance at making a sale

Re: Trying on dresses for fun...
i really dont think them knowing will be to much of a problem...just dont make them run around like a crazy person bc then they might get upset that they are doing all that for nothing...but also let them know that u arent looking to buy anything right now but if you see something you really like ur gunna make an apt with that person in the next few weeks or months

Everyone's always just looking.. unless they find THE ONE already and still go try on more dresses. That's plain RUDE~~!!!!!
I say go. Don't tell the consultant you have no intention to buy... cause u may buy you never know.
Have fun!

the only way the dress can go up in price is if the person anitially went shopping during a trunk show or sample sale the first time around. I do not plan to do that and I plan that is I do find 'The One' I am doing my research on where I can find it the cheapest b/c i have a budget and plan to stick to it.

Re: Trying on dresses for fun...
I dont think there is anything wrong with it. I did this in the beginning because my mom was going to make my dress, but I found a dress and fell in love and she said there was no way she was going to make it bc it was so complicated!
I wouldnt really let them know that you are only doing it for fun though bc then they would get mad. Its going to take a few shops and a few dresses to see what looks good on your body anyway, so why not start now! Also, if you find a good salesperson that you really clicked with, you will want to go back there in a few months when you are ready to make the actual purchase.
I think most places realize that most women go to more than one bridal shop to buy a gown. Like another bride said don't mention act like u are looking to buy and at the end just tell them u want to look around more...

I said that I was just going to try on dresses for fun about 1 month ago (with no intention of buying) Well long story short, not only did I find one I fell in love with, I ordered it and its in already!!! So you never know. You may find 'the one' while trying them on for fun

Just be aware that you are taking an appointment from them and this is their livelyhood.
You can tell them this is your first time looking. But dont go over the appointment and be respectful of the consultants time.

I def wouldn't tell them. Go in there... tell them you haven't the slightest idea of what would work and you need their help. You won't be lying... you're just not buying that day. BUT... if they offer great service... you may end up back there.

I feel like you'd get better service if you didnt let them know you werent planning on buying that day.
