Re: trying on dresses with fiance

Posted by lolalovesacroat

I just saw this on Friday on to say yes to the dress. I could never!!

I get so annoyed when the grooms on Say Yes to the Dress are so controlling over what dress the woman chooses. UGH!

Re: trying on dresses with fiance

nonononononononono NO haha

There was no way FH was coming with me to pick it out...and he wouldn't have anyway. He's very traditional that way.

Re: trying on dresses with fiance

I do almost everything with FH but dress shopping was out of the question.

It really depends. If you plan on seeing him before the ceremony anyway, I would consider going with him if you really want to.

If you didn't then I would not.

Re: trying on dresses with fiance

DH never came (I'm too superstitious), but I wanted to make sure that I got something I knew he would like. So I just asked general questions and narrowed down my choices that way.

Re: trying on dresses with fiance

He didn't come with me, I wouldn't have wanted him to, nor would have have wanted to. We have basically the same taste though so I'm not too concerned. I generally do not like poofy dresses, and he likes me in tight fitting things , so I think overall he'll be pleased with the mermaid look.

Re: trying on dresses with fiance

i took the fh shopping because he is the one who really knows my style and whose opinion i trust. After trying out a lot of dresses I finally found the one... i walked out and he said damn i really should not have come you look so beautiful. Knowing him he won't remember the dress and will still be surprised the day of the wedding when i have my hair done and makeup done.

mine's not going with me, but i have been showing him pics of the gowns i try on to see how he likes them--i think one of my biggest fears is that ill walk down the aisle and later find out that he didnt actually like the dress lol

Re: trying on dresses with fiance

My fiance likes simpler dresses like Paloma and Mikaella. Whereas I like I more poof and details. I was thinking about taking him when I go to RK this week. He doesn't really want to go because he thinks it will be awkward. Right now I am trying to find dresses that are a happy medium: a little poof and detail but not too over the top. I want him to love the dress just as much as I do.

Re: trying on dresses with fiance

I think it's a personal choice.

I, however, am def def def not taking him. I don't want him to see me in it until the wedding day (whether that be at the ceremony or the photo meeting)

Re: trying on dresses with fiance

The day of our wedding he will see me with hair and make up done. It just has to do with logistics. However, I WILL NOT let him see pics of my dress or in me in my dress until we take pics before ceremony. I want that shot of him seeing me in it first time!

My FH will not be there. I am very supersticious, and I want him to be super suprised and inlove when he sees me for the first time in my dress.

Re: trying on dresses with fiance

to me the wedding besides being the day you marry the love of your life, is so the bride to be surprises her husband to be with how gorgeous she looks. I enjoyed seeing DH reaction to seeing me for the first time as a bride. It was so magical.

This is not to say that your DH will not react the same way if you and him go dress shopping. But I would like for him to be totally surprised by not knowing what my gown is.

I agree with yuo 100%
