Trying to narrow down reception halls

Trying to narrow down reception halls

Ok So I've visited about 10 places in 3 days. . .no need to rush, I have about 21 months to go but I just want it booked.

I've narrowed it down to:

Crest Hollow
Jerricho Terrece
Sand Castle (Cinderella/Fairy tale theme)
or
Swan Club (does anyone know if that enclosed cocktail room in the back gets hot in July without ac?)

Everyone always has such good advice please give me your opinions about these places or if you have another suggestion about 20 to 35 minutes from Seaford (I've checked Leonard's, Captain Bill's, Larkfield Manor, Milleridge Inn, FOx Hollow, Grand Elegante, I think that's it) Should I be checking out more places?? I'm confused as it is!!

Your picks are all good choices - it's gonna be hard to narrow down

My FI and I finally were able to go see Jericho Terrace over the weekend and fell in love with the place. So, now we just need to get our butts back there to put down the down payment. Good Luck with finalizing it - let us know what you end up choosing

Did you check out the Manor East? It all depends on how much you want to spend and what you want. What are you looking for in reception halls?

I had my prom at Crest Hollow Country Club and I remember it was very nice. I went to a wedding at Jericho Terrace and they do a great job. The food was very good and the place is beautiful but I fell in love with Leonard's of Great Neck. The place is sooo elegant and the food is amazing. You'll have a great wedding with any of your choices

Did you check out the North Ritz Club in Syosset? That is my hall and I always of course recommend it.

Out of the places you listed, I would go with Crest Hollow. I have been to 2 affairs there (incl. my brother's wedding last month) and everyone always raves about it! Everything was great for my brother's wedding except they did not have the top shelf liquor that was written in the contrat!! I hear they often do that.

Swan Club is beautiful but I found they were not very flexible with their menu. I asked if we could customize the cocktail hour foods (I would pay) and they said no because they have more than one affair so the cook for the masses. I didn't want to add much or anything crazy either. I reaaly didn't like that about them.

I have never been to Sand Castle or Jericho Terrace. My brother looked at Jericho but chose Crest Hollow.

I am having my reception at Jericho Terrace. The grounds are beautiful and the food is really good. I am working with Michael Claus. He is very nice and he gave us alot of extras.

Did you look at Riviera in Massapequa-- it is on the water and I heard it is nice, and John Anthonys in Bablyon? I went to a party at the Swan Club and the food was amazing--and the Sandcastle is a realy nice place.

I'm getting married at Crest Hollow...can't wait! So there is my vote.

That room at the Swan club is nice, I was there in May on a 90 degree humid as hell day, and it was so-so. It wasn't so much the heat as it was the mosquitoes flying around from the water. That made it completely gross out there. But, if you have a nice day I'm sure it's fine. The other thing I didn't really care for was that the outdoor part was not at all decorated well. The tables they weren't using were piled in the corner and a lot were set up without any tablecothes on them, so they were bare wooden folding tables in terrible shape set up with plastic chairs, it kind of felt like a backyard party.

JMO!

I had my wedding at Crest Hollow in June- everything was truly perfect, we got raves from our guests. The food was delicious, we were treated so well, and the pictures taken on their grounds came out gorgeous. If you are going to get married in the summer, I would choose Crest Hollow.

They are all really nice choices :) we are having it at the Swan club, but we arent using the outdoor cocktail room. We thought the place was really pretty and great prices. They were all very nice there as well. Good luck!!

I am having my reception at the Sand Castle...They are really great. All I have heard are great things about the place. Reasonable $ for lots of food.

You've got to check out the North Ritz Club. FYI: I got a mild case of food poisoning at the Sand Castle a few months ago at a Christening.

I agree with nylisa...for a nice place that is close by to Seaford, you might want to check out the Manor East.

You can try the Riveira in Massapequa. Its really nice and right on the water...the food is very good too. I've been to the Crest Hollow for about 5 weddings and each one was amazing. We had a blast there and the food was great.

If you have the time, check out John Anthonys on the Water in Babylon. It's about 25 min. east of Seaford. Just had my wedding there. Read my reviews. (sept 14) Tons of delicious food (customized), amazing service, rooms with waterview - reasonable pricing for what you get.

Our reception will be at Floral Terrace. Sand Castle is owned by the same people. I've always heard GREAT things about the food and the service.

My wedding is at Jericho Terrace and so far I have only heard very good things. I have to say they are very easy to work with and very accomodating...ask for Mike Clauss.

Out of your choices Jericho Terrace is my favorite, I LOVE their rooms, and the food is very good. They have more than one wedding at a time which is why I went with the North Ritz Club.

Thanks ladies!! We are going to a wedding on Saturday at the Ritz and then to Sail Harbor on the 19th can't wait for both of them. . .I have a feeling i'll wind up at the Crest Hollow . . but I'll have to wait on my FH's opinion . . We wanted something different . .we've been to 13 weddings in 2 years and have not been to the same place twice! I always forget about Manor East it's about 5 minutes from me! and the Rivera too but we are having about 200 - 220 people and from what I remember (years ago- 16) the Rivera has a split dining area. I'll let you know what I decide
