I think dyables are ok for the bride -

I'm not a huge fan of them for BM dresses, but to each her own.

Uhhh i hateee them. I dont know why but i always feel like the styles are so ugly

Although my sister has a hot pink pair she wears any chance she gets

Not good, if it rains, they are not waterproof...

Yes... i let them pick whatever shoes they wanted... but i wanted the shoes too match because the dress was bright orange and i didnt like any other color with it..

This is a good point - if the dress they are wearing is hard to match with gold or silver, or maybe you just dont like how it looks - I can see getting the shoes dyed.

Yea - gold and silver go with just about everything but it might not work with your 'theme'

thanks girls - trying to prove to my FSIL that nobody does dyed shoes anymore! We still don't have BM dresses for her NOVEMBER wedding and last night she said she wanted dyed shoes from payless. Um no thanks.

i had my girls wear whatever they wanted... i think they all ended up wearing silver with their pink dresses (shows how not-important this is... i have no clue what they wore!!!)

however...

there's this part of me that feels if your FSIL would like the matched shoes, i'd just put on a smile and dye them to match. especially if you really like her and you know it would make her happy... i think it's a small gesture on your part that *hopefully* she will appreciate.

good luck! :)

i agree not a fan of that much matchy matchy, i think it just looks dated. i just told my girls to get whatever silver shoes they like.

This..everyone had different silver shoes (except 2 who liked the same shoe)

your 99% of the time never going to wear that color again, bc if the dress is black, or neautral color you would just do silver, gold or black.

the selection for dyeables is just plain ugly

they are expensive

they bleed even if it doesnt rain, (would you want your foot stained olive all night??)

long dresses cover for pictures, and people take them off almost immediatly during reception after pics are taken.

DWS has way to many shoes to choose from for me to pick a dyeable so my girls can wear them again.

fyi to anyone that has old dyeables lying around, you can dye them black. Any other color won't work but black shoes are the most versatile anyway. Its better than having them sit in your closet!

1 - the matchy matchy thing wasnt my thing
2 - if its an odd color, when are they going to wear them again?
3 - going to point 2, more $$ for them to spend
4 - godforbid it rains, they are NOT water proof.. so it could get kinda messy

In my youth I worked in a shoe store. I was the dye girl!

I Agree with all of these points and I'll add...

5 - even damp grass will ruin the dye on the shoe making it run.
6- the dye changes colors in different light ! Drastically!

No. I did silver instead, I'm not a fan of everything being matchy matchy.

I def agree with this. i would never want them for my wedding but I think it's probably less effort to just do it lol

at least she is going to payless for you guys! at this point, even if you think they are ugly, if its what she wants and its not a ton of money, i would simply smile and do it... even though they are totally outdated and can be ugly. but hey its her wedding right?

I honestly hate the idea of having shoes dyed to match a dress. My FSIL is making us do this for her wedding and I think it's a waste of money.. I'm never going to wear the shoes again.

Way too much effort. Silver or gold can look just as uniform. I'm having them all do silver strappy heels of their choice.

this!

depends on the dress. my bm are wearing black and my moh it shs wearing silver. i do not care what shoes they wear but i want the bm in black shoes and my moh in silver shoes. and i know that on bm wants flats and one wants heels. my only request for one of my bm is not to high a heel since is taller then me as it is and I will not be wearing heels that are that high

I picked no - mainly because they'll never wear them again.

I agree with everyone, dyeables are old. But I have to say I had a pair for a wedding I was a BM (she let us tpick out own shoes but same color) and I got them dyed black afterwards, they were great to wear to work so I used them a lot during the summer. But Silver and gold is way better!

i would buy dyeable shoes, but would never dye them myself. Not a big fan.

SO prom and 80's...metallic silver, gold or bronze. Even a fun print that matches, but never dyed to match the BM dress.
