It even gives you a code so you can put the meter on your website, or your profile here or on myspace or whatever. it's great.
Good Luck to all of you!!
I think I'll put mine on my profile, feel free to check it out I've had a smoke here and there since I started the countdown, but seriously, this countdown has kept me from going back to being an actual smoker because i'd hate to have to start all over.

I actually quit two months ago today. I just keep thinking about all of the positives like, my health, i don't smell anymore and I have so much extra cash from not buying cigs.

it was totally dependent on mood. There were days i'd have a few and days i'd smoke a whole pack. nights at the bar or coffee house could be more than a pack.
it was gross.
I'm not sure how bad i was when i made the countdown, but at least half a pack a day, if not more.

Re: Trying to Quit Smoking?
other tips that help me quit smoking....
toothpicks. chewing on them totally helped b/c it also gave me the hand to mouth motion i missed. i smoked mostly menthol so mint flavored toothpicks were life savors.
sugar free gum. pop it when you want a smoke...however, be prepared to basically become addicted to gum if you use this method, that's why i suggest sugar free.
place a rubberband on your wrist. snap it every time you want to smoke, you can even take it to the next level and snap it whenever you see someone else smoking or when you smell cig smoke.
TELL EVERYONE YOU QUIT. the look of disapointment on your friends and family's faces if you light up after telling them you quit, will definitely help you quit.
throw out your lighters or give them away. keep one in the house for candle or emergency use only.
quit midway through a pack. is it a waste of money? sorta, but if you quit after you finish a pack, have you really quit or are you just going longer between packs.
start walking or jogging. you can't get far if you smoke, it hurts, you can't breathe... it *****. so start running after you quit and realize how much better you feel. track your improvement every week you go without smoking. you'll be amazed at how quickly your stamina increases.

Re: Trying to Quit Smoking?
Honestly what really helped me with Stopping was DIETING., I was so caught up in not loosing weight after I stopped that I just worked out and dieted really hard and actually lost weight from it.
i would highly recommend it.

No Problem! I think having support for quitting smoking is just as important as having support with any other addiction.
If you want more tips or just want to talk or anything please get a hold of me.

Re: Trying to Quit Smoking?
i'm also a former smoker!! good luck to all of the ladies.. i actually don't know how long it's been because i never had a quit date.. i just ran out of cigarettes one day and decided i wasn't buying no more.. it's been somewhere round 6 months.. but the taste and cravings are gone..
i used th patch also.. i ordered it from the ny quit line.. i had tried it in the past and it never worked cause i'd buy the first box and by hte time i was out, when i went to the store to buy a nother box i'd wind up buying a pack of cigarettes instead.. with the ny quit line they send u (for free) three boxes.. (if i'm remembering correctly.. maybe 2) either way it's like 4 weeks min of nicotine ptches.. so there should be no lapses from one to the other..
i don't miss smoking but i do miss those vivid dreams i had while on the patch..
