Has this happened to anyone else? Even if it's meant to be a joke, from certain people (especially strangers or people you don't know well) the 'joke' about the horrors of marriage isn't funny.
I'm at work, and this guy I've met maybe 5 times saw me and said 'when are you getting married?' He knows my dad, so I assume that he told him the good news of the engagement. I told him when, and he then said 'why? You're crazy!' He then asked how long FH and I have been dating (7.5 years) and then launched into a story about how his 'buddy of mine was dating a girl for 10 years, lived with her and everything, bought a houe right before the wedding, went to Disney on their honeymoon, and he couldn't take it anymore and left the second day.' He said 'Why do you need to be married? Why ruin a good thing? Once it's a lifetime committment people get crazy.' I just kept on saying 'I'm not worried.' I mean REALLY? I find it incredibly obnoxious. PEOPLE!

because we're trying to make that 'good thing' a GREAT THING! ugh people have to realize that the rest of the world don't HAVE to think the way they think.
FH's friend got married last year and he was wearing this tshirt under his tux I understand that it might be funny but I. seriously wouldn't like if my FH wears it
That shiirt is actually funny... Hmmm I don't think we have gotten that a lot. I'm 29 and he is 38 (so as somone said before, I'm not sure if its an age thing) but all of our friends are like jesus its about time ya get married. I think probably our best man only jokes about it, but at the end he is really happy and even gave us our honeymoon to europe. So I don't think he really has an issue.
But age doesn't have much to do with it, if you found the one than you found the one. Everyone is different. But that comment someone said about being told your too young you should experience life, is something I just realized FH and 1 always say (in regards to raising children- and saying that to our kids) but that's prob our opnion due to the age we are getting married. So iif you found the one whether your 18 or 55. Just go for iit.
