TTC and going off the BCP

I am finishing up my last pack of BCP on Saturday and from then on we are 'playing it by ear' so to speak. I know a lot of women say that you have to wait at least 2-3 months before trying to conceive, but what about all the women who get PG (my mother included...thats where I come in ) when they forget a pill or two? Their pregnancies are normal? Is it just a precaution or should I be really cautious until October?

I know a lot of peole who have gotten pregnant their first month off the pill and had perfectly normal pregnancies. The reason my OBGYN told me they like if you wait 3 months is so that your period can become more normal. A lot of women have a very light flow just after going off the pill. And remember, your period is really the lining of your uterus that will catch the fertilized egg and give it a home for the next 9 months. Perhaps there is more of a chance of the egg adhering if there is more cushioning. I am guessing.

I was wondering the same thing....if it's recommended for health reasons or just to be cautious.

We're going to TTC in January. If I follow the 2-3 months off BCP recommendation, then my last pack is next month's. And 'hypothetically' we would use another form of birth control. Well, here is the problem......I'm using the BCP because we're not good at any using any of the other forms!!

Anyone else?? I'm so not looking forward to giving up my pills

I went off the pill recently my last period,
and now we are TTC
just cant wait for 2-3 periods
and we may just have to, all depending on nature.
But I am sure its fine,
I think a ideal situation is to wait 2-3 months
just to get your period normal.
