TTD dilemma

TTD dilemma

so I found this photog that does amazing work - fashion style shoot - but he is $1,500 which includes hair, m/u, steaming and ironing our outfits, change of outfits, 8 hrs of shooting across the city, a 20 page album and all images edited on a DVD. plus they make it into an experience and also give champagne and during the shoot stop by somewhere to eat.

do u guys think its worth it?

on the other hand we can always find someone else for a 1/3 of that.

Re: TTD dilemma

sounds WAAAY too expensive to me.

sorry.

ETA: i'd go with a cheaper route - a photographer for 2-3 hours, and get your hair and makeup done beforehand at a salon

While it sounds lovely, I wouldn't be willing to pay that much. And DH would've wrung my neck if I did!

Re: TTD dilemma

it does sound like a lot of fun to have a full day of TTD stuff .... but the only thing they're really offering you is hair & makeup and champagne. The steaming thing is kinda silly, IMO. So i just don't see how it's worth it.

and while 8 hours sounds like fun, it also sounds like A LOT .... i'm not sure 8 hours is necessary.

save the extra money ... or use it on something that'll last

i still can't justify $1500 ... but maybe you could negotiate with them and do a 4 hour shoot for half the price instead?

ps: i *love* Barb's idea of doing the TTD shoot in israel ... though it might be annoying to carry the dress over.

I'm going to disagree with some of the others and say I think this might not be such a bad idea, BUT are you willing to make this a FULL day event?

I know myself and I don't know if I can do 8+ hours of shooting with only a couple breaks for food and champagne. Do you like the idea of an 8 hour shoot? Do you think you can manage the whole time without collapsing?

Re: TTD dilemma

I think you can find someone who will take amazing pics for a lot less... When we did our TTD this past weekend we were only with her for 2-ish hours and we still have tons of great pics... I got my hair and makeup done before hand which cost next to nothing...

But if you're going for a particular style of photographer then I guess it is worth it but I still wouldn't spend $1500 on a TTD. But that is just me.

Re: TTD dilemma

Honestly, I loooooooove pictures. I loved getting dressed up and photographed and couldn't get enough of it. We snuck away several times during the wedding to take pictures. I've since done a TTD shoot and boudoir photos, but 8 hours of TTD is a LOT. We had 160 edited photos from a 2 hour shoot and that probably wasn't even half of how many we took. Would you be able to break it up on different days maybe at different locations with different styles? Then, I might be willing to cough up the cash.

its not the time - I ahve no problem with the time as I said before that was my fav part of the wedding - taking photos, its the money thing
thinking about it and talking to u girls it is really insane to pay that
u and Gina both have amazing pictures and u didnt pay that, so ye I was momentarily insane for even considering that hehe

I also need to ask u something so FMing u now.....
