Tuesday I go for my scan for my thyroid at the hospital

thank you so much if i do need to talk I will fm you I went for the pill this morning and tomorrow is the scan i am so nervous and scared. Dh is home today he has the day off because he worked on new years eve, so he went with me to mather hospital. tomorrow i have to be there at 9:30 in the morning. I just want it done and over with. at least i asked my mom to meet me there tomorrow because i dont want to go alone. i had a bad dream last night because I am so nervous. i dreamt i had to stay in the hospital after taking the pill and than my whole family was there and a preist was there saying a prayer for me. man you would think in my dream i was on my deathbed because everyone in my dream friends and family were there.

Are you having a Thyroid Uptake scan? I had that done a few years ago to rule out Graves disease. I swallowed a tiny amount of radioactive iodine for that scan. It's called a tracer dose. Feel free to FM me with any questions you may have.

I think they are trying to rule out to see if there is any cyst or anything like that, thats making my thyroid underactive. I not really sure what they are looking for maybe to try to rule out graves disease maybe. I will keep you all updated. thanks for all of your support I really appreciate it.

i got there at 9:20 am and they called me in and i went in to this room and they took a scan of my throat sitting up and than they took a pic of my leg which i dont understand why and than i had to lay down on a table and they put two things on my neck on bothsides of my neck i guess it takes pic of my neck from the back and they said they will call me either on Thursday& Friday. i will keep you all updated. Thanks for asking.

DH had that done several months ago. the dr. said he had an over active paratyroid that was secreting too much calcium into his body. the scan test for him was not bad at all.
it will all work out :)

My doctor called before he said my thyroid is enlarged and the xray's showed normal activity. I am happy but still alittle concerned. Because he wants me to come in for a check up at the office to see if he want to put me on the medicine. but overall I am fine everyone no tumors or anything bad. thanks for all of your supports i am reallt greatful to all of everyone who responded and fmed me.
