Do any of you think there are people on here (and I mean real brides) that make up stories of things that are going on in their lives or with their weddings just go get attention or have something to say?
My reason for asking is because before I signed up in 2004, a bride was posting all these RIDICULOUS stories. I mean it was pure nonsense and lies. For example, one was a response to a post about cheating. She said that her MOH's sister's FH cheated and she ended up with an STD. How do I know that's a lie? Because she had 2 MOH's and I was the only one with a sister and my sister was NOT engaged!

There are ALWAYS people that make up stories to make their lives appear more interesting... I'd be shocked if there WEREN'T some on here...

Probably, it is the internet so you never know who be saying what and what the truth is. Since it is wedding stuff I would hope that it wouldnt be the case but I do think people might exagerate a little on things.

Its b/c people think that other people will be more likely to listen to them if they have something dramatic and interesting to say.

If people are making things up to get attention than I feel really bad for them. How sad to have to make things up to get attention from strangers. I'm just a big softie and always feel bad for people.

I agree with this just because although people handle things differently when something really bad happens to you, at least I tend to keep it to myself and will disappear from the site from a couple of months versus putting it on the net where anyone can see it.

05 - it isn't clear to people on here that they are lies (maybe some). I know they are lies because I know her.

Maybe it happened to her and she didn't want to tell the world? But I do agree it's stupid to lie. I really have a huge problem with liars, I don't see the point
