Happy tuesday everyone...hope everyone is ready for a hot and sticky one...not QOTD..get your minds out of the gutter, LOL. Stay hydrated!!!
I will be training for half the day so I have to post and run
Continuing with the relationship questions and going into opposites attracting...are you and FH different? If so, what are your difference..i.e. race, religion, beliefs, goals, political parties, dealings with finances, family relationships??? How are you dealing with your differences?
Well for me FH is a different race..he is chinese and I am colombian/russian. It has been a struggle with my family dealing with this or lets say not dealing with it. They dont accept it so I dont accept them and thus we dont speak anymore...very long and drawn out but for me its the best. We are also different in that he is a saver and I am a spender and we have had long conversations about this situation and we have worked out a plan so that we can compromise because we will never be able to change the other and to be honest thats why I love him. Thats pretty much our differences. I really think that those differences makes our relationship strong since we have to communicate more to one another because we dont like to fight.

Re: *~*~*~Tuesday QOTD~*~*~*
Well the most immediate is location, FH is from NJ and I am from LI. We bought a house here, but its still a constant battle over the location with him family. They want him in NJ and still expect him to come back there at least once a week. FMIL still calls that his home even though we own a house in East Islip. Last week they made a comment about leaving brunch (the morning after the wedding) early because of Sunday traffic and FH flipped out. He said, I drive home all the time in traffic to do any number of things, you can't suck it up for my wedding.
Thats another difference between FH and I. Saying that to his family is very unusual. He tends to just go out of his way to please people. I, on the other hand, am not that way at all, an only child to the core. Its good, we balance each other out. And he stands up for himself so much better now then when I met him when we were in college.
Oh the biggest future issue will be how we want to bring up our kids in the summer. I want to join a Beach Club or Country Club like my family so my children will have swimming lessons, tennis lessons, etc. He wants a summer house at the NJ Shore where they can spend the summers having fun. Both are good options but we absolutely don't agree on this at all, we are at least a year off from having kids and fighting about this already.

The only difference between us is that while we both have huge families, I don't talk to any of mine (let's just say they are white trash and leave it there) and he talks to ALL of his. He has the kind of family I have always wanted. Sometimes it overwhelms me, and I can't keep track of who is who and how they are related, so it's a bit difficult, but mostly I love it.

FH and I think a lot a like, and we are both NYC school teachers ...but on the outside couldn't be anymore different. This makes me love him even more!! I am 28, he is 37. He has a lot of tattoos (and used to have a lot of piercings) and is sleeved on both arms and I don't even have one tattoo.
Other than appearances... I have a HUGE family and he does not at all.

FH's family are not mindful of regular things like engagement parties and showers they really don't see these occasions as being really important and thus haven't attended any of them only his mom and sister have. His family is just not accustomed to American traditions even though they were brought up in NY they just don't get certain things .
We are similar in everything else like where we were brought up, race, religion, only i am older by 3 years.

We are very similiar, but of course have differences when it comes to hobbies and such. But in regards to religion, race, family etc we are pretty much the same person
However... here are the biggest differences.. He waits to the last minute to do EVERYTHING .. and I dont everything immediately. He is always late, I am always early...He doesnt sweat the small stuff, I do...so I think we balance eachother out

Re: *~*~*~Tuesday QOTD~*~*~*
FH is a Puerto Rican Jew and I am an Irish German Catholic, so that is different. In personality we are sooo different. I am scatterbrained, completely unorganized, forgetful & messy! He is responsible, organized, has it totally together and he does most of the cleaning & cooking! But he is great because he puts up with my ********, so that's why I love him

Re: *~*~*~Tuesday QOTD~*~*~*
race - different
religion - same
beliefs - same
goals - same in that we want to own our own businesses but he wants a PT practice and a restaurant and I want a dance studio.
political parties - same
dealings with finances - I SHOP....and shop and shop. He doesn't care but loves to go out to eat so we both spend just on different things.
family relationships - His fam ***** except for his aunt and uncle and his brother...they are old and love to be home and he isn't that close to them. My family is loud, crazy, and very close.

Re: *~*~*~Tuesday QOTD~*~*~*
me and FH are very alike but sooo different at the same time.
We are alike is that we both have strong family value with kids seeing family etc. We are also people pleasures even if it means not doing what we want, but we are trying to change that, hes actually worse then me in that fact and b/c of it people walk all over him.
we are very different in the fact, is he can be very sensitive and gets mad over something that to me is so tiny. He flips out adn if hes pissed does not hide it. he says whats on his mind and sometimes I feel he should always act that way.
hes changed a lot then what he used to be he used to yell at guys for looking at me LOL
we get through our differenaces by communicating and always working things out even if it means talking all night.. FH is my best friends :)

We're very different when it comes to money. I affectionately call him 'my miser.'
His family is rather cold and standoffish and also very small. I come from a big warm Italian family on my mom's side and a huge Irish/Spanish family on my dad's side.
As far as how our children will be raised, career goals, etc., we're on the same page. Politically, I tend to be slightly more liberal than he is.

Re: *~*~*~Tuesday QOTD~*~*~*
FH and I are pretty different. He has a very large family and is very family oriented, whereas I have a small family and we do not keep in touch with 2nd and 3rd cousins. FH is very religious Greek Orthodox, and I am a non-practicing Catholic. FH is all mediterranean, Greek and Italian half and half, and I have some Northern European influence with Swiss and Irish. Politically, I am conservative and FH is liberal. I'm tall, he's short. I'm always early, he's always late. I like to get things done, he likes to wait till the last minute.
We really are opposites in a lot of ways. Somehow, it works, but we're both VERY stubborn, so it can be a problem. So far I have made the most concessions with going outside of my comfort zone, i.e. attending church with him, being involved with large family gatherings, and he has done nothing, which is why I WILL get my way with the child naming issue, which he randomly brought up himself the other night just to fight with me about, ugh.

Re: *~*~*~Tuesday QOTD~*~*~*
we are totally different personality and family style....his whole family are partyers and my family is more laid back and reserved....he is very spontaneous, risk taker, nothing stressing him out, outgoing, can talk to anyone about anything and I am so not any of those things.....but we really even one another out!
