Tuesday QOTD

Tuesday QOTD

What are or were you the most worried about when you think of becoming a wife? i.e. not about the day, but about actually being married?

For me, it might be silly, but the stress of having to be responsible for chores for both of us. Like right now, I am very busy at work, and I come home and eat a lean cusine and do laundry in the middle of the night sometimes. I hardly ever cook anymore (so sad). I need to pull it together, but the idea of it stresses me out.

FH usually gets home earlier than me, but if he's responsible for getting us dinner, I think we'll go hungry...

living with someone full time! I know that may sound strange, but I've lived alone for almost 20 years. From the time I moved out of my house, I never even had a roommate. The way it is now, FH and I have our separate places, but spend a couple of nights a week together.

However, we just closed on our house and are in the process of fixing it up and moving in together. It's a little scary to me knowing that I will be living with someone ALL the time!!!

It used to be if I had a bad day at work or got home really late, I could just say 'don't come over, I'll just see you tomorrow' now I can't do that.

It's exciting but nerve-wracking! The funny part is he's freaked out about the same thing!

i don't know what I'm really scared of. We've been living together for almost 5 years, so sometimes I feel like we're already married.

I would say becoming more of a contributor to my household. I've been working part time since I got my MS in education -- I know it will all eventually work out. But that's really it. I just want the wedding to be here already!

I hear this. . and now I travel a lot for work so still get alone time. . I don't want to travel anymore bc I MISS being home but feel like when I stop I'm going to be like. . what? I am with someone every night! don't get me wrong i LOVE spending time with DH but it's a lot of adjustment when you have been on your own a long time

that's why the word boudoir for the lady's extra bedroom came from 'pouting room' bc everyone needs a little personal space now and then but maybe not to pout!

I didn't know that about boudoir - I guess that's what I get for taking Spanish instead of French! I've already told FH he can have the den as 'his space' but I'm claiming the rest of the house as mine

Thank God we got the house before we got married, we would kill each other in a 1 bedroom apt!

Mine was actually the thought of having to buy stuff together. Everything has always been mine OR his...I was feeling all pressured like as soon as we get married I had to change my name...buy a car together...get a house together...get pets together...

God...it made me sick. And still kinda does, haha. Its an adjustment definitly, but Ill get over it

Re: Tuesday QOTD

I'm most worried about compromise of responsibilities. FH is very infantalized, and quite frankly, spoiled rotten. He's used to being waited on hand and foot and really coddled. Laundry done, doesn't iron his own work shirts, doesn't pack his lunch when he brings to work, dinner waiting for him on the table...etc. It's going to be really difficult to wean him from that, to help me out more.

I work full time, and I know I'll be the one that has to do the cooking, the cleaning, the laundry...and he will really need to help me. He doesn't work every other Friday because of the way his office operates, and I've asked him to please help me on those Fridays at least with the cleaning or laundry or food shopping, but I am actually scared that I'll come home Friday night and he'll be sitting in his underwear playing video games and scratching himself, and ask me what's for dinner.
