*~*~*~Tuesday QOTD*~*~*~

Ok, I did this one a long time ago on the 2010 boards, but it's a fun one............

What's the most outrageous, ridiculous request your FH/DH has come up with for your wedding?

For mine, it's by far the Incredible Hulk ice sculpture.....I kid you not ladies, he wants a bust of the Incredible Hulk made of ice, at the CH Even worse is that my mom gave him the dumb idea of having green lights shining up on it to make it green! Green's not even one of my colors!!!!!

That and he and FBIL want to wear searsucker suits instead of traditional tuxes This one they're not winning, lol.

ETA: I forgot this one! FH wants to give 1-up mushrooms as favors!!! Yea like old school Super Mario Brother 1-up Mushrooms. Apparently you can buy them and grow them

because our CH had an option to go outside, he wanted to play tailgating games like washers, bean bag toss, ladder ball etc outside for our guests to play!! yeah ok our wedding is not a tailgating event!!!

FH has actually not had one 'ridiculous' request, because I guess then that would mean that he actually has an interest in or cares about our wedding

The ONLY thing he actually put his foot down on that he insisted we do is have the pasta course instead of the sorbet intermezzo for dinner. I wanted the sorbet because there's a ridiculous amount of food at our CH and for dinner, and I thought the sorbet would be nice and light, but he insisted that we have yet MORE pasta because his family would be up in arms if there was no pasta course, and that sorbet is getting too 'cutesy' for them. I let him have the pasta course since it was literally the only thing he had a vehement opinion on.

DH insisted that escort cards and table assignments were not necessary. It was seriously a 2-week long fight towards the very beginning of our planning process.

I tried to explain to him that even though we were doing a buffet, there had to be assigned tables. Divorced parents who hate each other + no seating assignments = awkward relatives and uncomfortableness all around. It would've been a disaster!!!

He finally relented, but still says he didn't think we needed it when it comes up.

First he wanted a world of warcraft grooms cake, now he is on a 'hitch hikers guide to the galaxy' kick, and wants the Hitchhikers guide with the words 'Don't Panic' as the grooms cake.

He also wants the bridal party to walk in to 'I just walked in (to see what condition my condition was in)' (for those of you who know the Big Lebowski).... with the groomsmen in bathrobes, doing the strut

That is pretty awesome!! Haha. FH wants us to walk in to Final Countdown with wads of cash and knives in our mouths as a nod to Arrested Development.

I stressed out over this bc of my very Italian family and it turned out they LOVED the sorbet. The cocktail hour is CRAZY at Villa--the pasta course was not missed at all.
I think you should disregard his request and do the sorbet.

LOL!! I'm sooo just kidding...it's a small thing, gotta give in sometimes. Actually, my DH insisted on kilbasi (sp) at the cocktail hour and I really didn't want it, but I gave in. People loved it and it didn't effect me in the least bit. You did the right thing.

'So John picked the CH music huh?!?!?'

FH wants to wear Yankee colored pinstripe tuxes at the wedding, when i shot that idea down, he said well 'okay then we'll just have a NY symbol on that back of our tuxes' <---- again, not happening! lol

This is the best thing I've ever heard. That is my and FH's favorite movie, we talked about that movie the night we met... that would be so awesome and funny but I still don't think I'd be on board to do that because the old folks wouldn't get it.

DH wanted balloons at the reception, on the tables. I explained he could have as many balloons as he wanted outside his parents house the day of the wedding, but not at RH. We had glass centerpieces w/ the candles. No balloons.

DH really, really wanted to wear a white tux. Or a tux with tails. That did not happen.

Nothing much, he really didn't care too much. He was helpful when I had busy work for the wedding and otherwise had no opinions.

He did try to tell me several times that he wanted to wear black patent leather shoes with a white tux so the day before the wedding when the tux shop forgot his white shoes, we went shopping for them.

At another point he saw a photo of goldfish in centerpieces and he thought it would be a good idea to stick some in with our floating candles for cocktail hour and I vetoed that. I don't want any fried fish and I don't want to get stuck with 15 goldfish.

Nothing too major overall.
