Re: Tulle
I was thinking of heading into the city at the garment district. Someone told me it was super cheap there. Me and FH might make a little day of it.

LOL...Mom decorated the outside of the house (banister/awnings), and then the inside of the house, also made tulle circles with jordan almonds that my mom gave out at a dinner w/our family overseas.. The rest we kept (about 1/4 left) fto use as 'wrapping' for celebrations and such.

OK I'm the non-girly one here. I don't think I even know what tulle is. I THINK it's the fabric that is in like ballerina tutus, right?

Re: Tulle
Yes, that's what tulle is. It's used for decorating and making bows too.
I got 30 yards at Michaels on sale for $20. I was going to use my coupon and get it for $15 but it was already on sale.

Re: Tulle
I am getting married at Vanderbilt Mansion and the reception is in the inside of a tent. Instead of paying a florist thousands to decorate the inside of the tent I could buy the tulle myself and pay someone who works at the Vanderbilt to put it up.
I have no idea how much I need yet.
Has anyone used that much tulle before?

Re: Tulle
I haven't bought the tulle but I did see it all over the garment district for 99 cents a yard.

Re: Tulle
I didn't see any need to buy the tulle early - only if you know how much you need and can get it at a great price. I was having a hard time estimating how much I needed so I did a sneaky thing. I had an appointment with a company that does the same decorating at my RH (for a lot of $$$ i might add) and I asked her how much tulle she uses. I bought it myself and got several offers from family and friends to put it up.

I'd ask Vanderbuilt the measurements of the tent, and determine how much tulle you need from there.
A lot of reception sites use tulle as a decorative element in their rooms (Flowerfields & Crest Hollow off the top of my head) - so it's not something so uncommon....
