Hey Ladies!! Just wondering time frame on passports right now. I know last year they were taking 3-4 months for some people I know who applied for them(FIL's ).
FH and I have our appointment with Post Office next week to have the photos done and paperwork sent out. We will not be HM'ing until Oct/Nov. I am sure we are within plenty of time!

Re: Turnaround Time on Passports
Two of my BMs just happened to get theirs. One took a month, the other had hers back in 2 weeks!!! So yeah, that whole nightmare where they were taking forever is over. You have plenty of time.
Put it this way, I still haven't gotten mine (though I do need to get on it) and our honeymoon is the last week in April. I'm not worried. I just need to do it already but I'm sure I'll have it back in time.

Fh and I applied for ours over the summer...we wanted to make sure that we had ample time b/c we had been told it could take up to 6 months...we wound up getting them in 2 weeks...I am not sure if we were lucky...but either way it was very quick

Re: Turnaround Time on Passports
My FH ordered his in Oct and we received it by end of Nov. It was fast and we didn't have it expedited either! I think they've caught up with the rush

Re: Turnaround Time on Passports
Thanks everyone! Appreciate it! Last summer FIL's decided last minute to do a trip to Italy. They are not travelers and had no idea about passports and such. They did all their paperwork and sent it off and never heard anything for months. A week before they were supposed to leave they had to contact someone in their local government to help them get the passports in time to leave. They seriously got them they day before leaving. I didn't want to be in that position so we had some time next week and I made our apt!

Re: Turnaround Time on Passports
we went to get ours this past dec and we got them back in january. THey told us it take 3 to 4 months but it only took like 3 weeks.
And some post offices require appointments for the picture and others don't. We went to one in hempstead and there was no appointment need. You can go on the website to see if appointment is needed

i renewed mine a few months ago....it took less than 3 weeks. Just make sure you fill out the proper forms and have the right amount in the check!
