Does it matter if the guys wear bow ties or regular ties?? We are having a night wedding, is there a certain tie rule

We just did our tuxes and there was no rule (our reception starts at 7pm). You can do whatever you prefer.

I believe there's no rule...I prefer the tie though It's less stiff...Most guys look good in ties but not all guys look good in bow ties! Have you seen the apprentice lately?

I think the traditional bowtie is a little 'outdated' myself.
Go with a more modern look. They do tuxes now with 'regular looking' ties. I like that look much better IMO.

we are having a night wedding, and the only way I would get FI to wear a bow is if I glued it on him when he was a sleep and than distracted him before the ceremony so he doesn't notice!
They are wearing ties. I honestly think they should wear what they feel comfortable in. There is no reason to force them to wear anything.

FH wants to wear the wing tip shirt and bow-tie... I think he'll look cute! BM will also wear a bow-tie and the 2 dads will wear a straight tie most likely.

Wer're doing the ties.. I like they way they look better than bow ties... jmo

Yeah, I don't think there's any etiquette. Whichever you like ON better. We tried the regular tie first and thought it looked very ordinary on fh (he is oddly proportioned), so we decided to go with the bow tie. It gave him the little 'exta something' he deserves!

I actually wanted my FH to wear a tie but he was extremely insistant on wearing a bo-tie! I think it will look cute. I don't think there is any etiquette at all. It is whatever you FH and you feel looks best on him.
