Our wedding venue is very laid back with an elegant feel. Originally I thought that tuxes would be great, but now I'm thinking that maybe it would be too formal? (See venue pics in my album)
We're having an evening wedding, so it should be more dressy than a daytime wedding (??I dont know if thats true - but thats what I've been told)...but again, based on our RH, I don't know if that would look out of place.
Here is a suit and a tux that I LOVE. But not even basing the decision these examples....just tuxes and suits in general, which should we do? FH doesn't care either way...
tux (sigh - I love George in a tux):
suit (general idea): Another shot of the suit:

I asked this ?? at the Tux place where we're getting the guys' suits.
The difference is:
Tux - the lapel is satin & the buttons are usually covered in satin as well. The pocket is also always lined in satin as well.
Suit - all basically lined - no flash or sparkle.
Personally - we're doing suits. The groomsmen will be in black on black with silver & white long ties. FH will be in black pinstriped suite with a white shirt & his Steelers Superbowl tie.
So you CAN rent suits???
Yes - you can rent suits from Dante Zeller - they are in NY & NJ!!

I love the idea of a suit, but I think a tux would just look so much better next to your dress.

Re: tux or suit?
Bonnie, I said suit because I think it would look very nice at the OFC. I've seen some reviews from people who were married there and I think most were wearing suits.
BUT I think you could do a tux with a regular tie. I think the bowtie makes it look so much more formal. (I wish I could get my FH to wear a regular tie or suit ... he wants to wear a bowtie ... and since everything else has been my idea, I should let him have this one thing ... )

Re: tux or suit?
Well you had to go and make the decision difficult by putting those 2 examples up? How does a girl decide?!?!
If you can rent a suit, I say go with it. My whole thing would be the uniformity of it. I want them all to match and some people's idea of a 'nice' suit might not be your idea, KWIM?
Maybe it's just because I don't trust my groomsmen as far as I can throw them when it comes to clothes (4 are my brothers).

Re: tux or suit?
i say do what makes you happy, dont base it upon the Rh being more relaxed...its still a wedding and hes still getting married, nobody would say anything if he had a tux and wonder oh why is he wearing a tux...i would go with him to try on box and see what he likes best and is more comfortable in
