FH has two best men, and there are four other guys in the BP. We picked out the tuxes a while ago, nice stuff, everyone will look classy.
One of FH's best men has his own tux. He insists it's the same thing - standard black tux.
Part of me wants to say that I've spent the past year making sure every detail of this freaking wedding was a certain way and he has to match, all tuxes are NOT the same. The other part of me is tired of the BS from everyone and let him do what he wants.
What would you do ???

Would he be renting the same vest, tie, etc to wear with the tux? If so I would leave it alone. If not I would have my FH have a talk with him.

We had the same issue with FH brother. He owns a tux and wanted to use and just rent the vest and tie. Fh told him that if he owned a Ralph Lauren 3 button tux just like the one that he picked it was o.k. Otherwise he would need to rent a tux.

my dad, brother and FIL have their own standard black tuxes. it was ok with me for them to only rent the shirts, ties and vests.

I would just suggest he rent the accessories. So at least it is somewhat uniform. All eyes are going to be on you and the hubby that day, so don't worry about the groomsman so much!

Hmmm....honestly, I'd ask to see said tux and see how similar it is...because IMHO the only person who should have a totally different tux is the groom.....sometimes they wear white while the GM wear black or vice versa....but I personally think that all the GM should wear the same tux....it just looks better......that's my 2 cents at least. FFIL owns his own tux, but to keep with the uniformity (and since we went to great lengths on this...the GM are in one color of vests(red), dads in another(black) and FH in another(silver), he rather quickly agreed to rent one! We didn't even push it...we just said 'You need to be measured by June 24th.' and he mentioned his own tux but then said, it will look better if I'm in the same one so I'll go get fitted this week (and he was the first one to be fitted!!!).'

I would make him rent a tux. THat's part of the deal when you agree to be Best Man. Even if the tux is very similiar to the others, you'll be able to see the difference when they are standing side by side for pictures. And because there are two best men, there is no way that it'll look like you did it on purpose

I would ask to see the tux, and if you approve of it matching, i would say let him use it, but he would have to make sure he rents all the accessories. if you don't think it will totally match, then he should rent it!

I think that's a great way to do it. You're showing him you're open to him wearing his own as long as it matches everyone else's...
