Tux's

Multi questions. Where is everyone getting their tux's from, and how long before did you book. We are getting married 12/15, when should we be looking and booking? Also, and pics and prices would be great if you have them.

Re: Tux's

I heard good things about VIP. They have several locations. My FH was in a wedding party a year ago and he went to Small's and I don't think they had any problems there either. There's one in Roosevelt Field and one in Sunrise Mall.

I was told to stay away from Zeller Tuxedos. And I have heard good and bad things about Men's Warehouse.

Re: Tux's

I heard bad stuff about Zeller's -- from the boards as well as one of our groomsen who recently got married (basically - the FOG has a hole in his tux, and since Zeller has no stock on hand or tailors on premise -- he was stuck wearing it as-is).

We ended up going to Bonaventure in Garden City. It's a family business with stock & tailors on hand... For 9 tuxes (groom, GM, RB) we got 2 free.

Re: Tux's

FI and I went in to put our order for him and GM about a month ago (getting married in October). FI also got measured that day. They said the bridal party can come in any time up until 2 weeks before. Although FI gave them a Sept. 15th deadline.

We used After Hours (in Roosevelt Field). We used them because they have locations all over and our GM can go to any location and get what we ordered. Also the BM used this for his wedding and had no issues. My brothers went for their fitting and said they were very rude and unprofessional though. The store was also packed.

They are all wearing black tux, ivory shirts and wine coloered vests. GM will wear a wine tie (full tie) and FI will wear an ivory tie. We got Ralph Lauren, three button tuxs. I think he picked the square toe shoes. I think it is about $150 all in. (FI is free - I think for every 6 you get one free or something like that)

We are letting the dads pick their own tux's - figured they will match the mom's dresses. They have a special for the ring bearer for $50 they can get a basic tux or for full price match the GM. I told me aunt to get my cousin whatever she preferred. I would go cheap but I think she wants him to match.

Re: Tux's

VIP makes you pick what you want out of a catalogue. They don't have anything you can try on in the store and they tell you that you will get the tux 2 days before the wedding. I don't think thats good because what if there is a problem with the order & plus you want to see how something looks on you before you decide.

Re: Tux's

FH is using Bonaventure in Garden City. He picked his tux out about 6 weeks ago and is being measured on Wednesday (3 weeks before the wedding). They have a nice selection and were very patient and friendly with helping him pick a style he likes. I dont remember exactly but I think including shoes, the rental is approx $130.

His friend used them for his wedding a few years ago and they didn't have any problems.

With a wedding so close to the holidays, I would reserve them a little early in case people are renting them for formal holiday parties.
