FH hasn't gone to look at tuxes yet, but he's torn between renting a tux or just investing in a quality suit for the wedding. We are not traditional and our wedding isn't going to be super fancy, so he'd prefer a nice dark gray or navy suit. He's also tall and very slim, so he's concerned that a rental tux won't fit him nicely.
Any suggestions? As for purchasing a suit - we have looked online at JCrew and JCrew Factory....any experience with these suits - are they worth it for the quality? Cheaper suits on the website are at least $600 (not including alterations and accessories he'd need), so we're just not sure we have that money to spend right now

Tux Vs. Suit
My groom and groomsmen are going to get suits. They're planning to look at Karako, RSVP & Amityville Men's Shop.

Tux Vs. Suit
We are having the same problem! Lol we want to do gray suits but our best man is a big guy so it's hard finding a place that carries his size and getting the same suit for everyone

FH is wearing a suit for the wedding, possibly also J. Crew because he wears them to work daily. We are looking for a 3 piece suit though and haven't found a good one there yet. If we don't soon, he'll get a custom made one. The price isn't significantly more for a custom suit.

Yes - not at all of them though. I know mens warehouse doesn't rent suits, but I believe Tuxedo Park does.

I'm not exactly sure what makes a tux a tux, but I didn't want the traditional tux look (bow tie, stripe down the side of the pants).
We've only been to Forresto's in Mineola so far. They have traditional tuxes but they also have these 'tuxes' which seem to me like suits (see pic - sorry a bit blurry).
