me and FH were debating this morning regarding the tuxedos for the dads. we're going for fittings later.
here is our dilema: what color should the father's vests and ties be? do they match the moms or the bridal party? FH told me to log on and ask you girls...
what do you think?

I dont think that they have to match the moms. I would say the BP if anything. My BM's are wearing sienna (burnt orange) but I'm a little concerned about what the guys' vests would look like so I may just have them wear ties to match. All of the men will wear shirts that match the color of my dress. FH will wear a tie or vest in that same color and maybe the dads will wear black ties or vests to distinguish them.

At my brother's wedding, the dads wore a simple black vest & tie...that way they stood out from the groomsmen, and black goes with everything, so they 'matched' the moms

there are no real rules for the fathers, at least not that i've come across. I would say just have them in a different color vest/tie than the groom and the groomsmen so that they stand out.
they do not have to wear the same tux as eachother either. as far as matching the moms go... i think it's a cute idea, but you don't HAVE to do it like that.

Wow I haven't even thought that far ahead! You guys are on top of things. I think the Father's will look very complimentary to anyone's colors in the traditional black vest/tie!

My father just went today actually he is wearing the same color vest as my moms dress & FH dad is wearing the same as his moms

for us i think the fathers should be in a classic black and white...i think it's showing that they are an important part of the wedding, but that they are separate from the GMs.
but i dont think theres a rule or anything...do what you think would look best!

we went for tuxes on thursday...we asked the lady at the store what we should do for the fathers and whether or not they should match the bp. She told us that no they dont have to and normally they don't. She said most fathers will get something to match their wives or something they like. So our fathers are gonna pick whatever tux they like. Knowing my dad he'll definitely pick something to stand out hahahaha. It'll be black but the vest and ties i mean they can pick what they want
