Tuxedo Questions

1. How much money do the GMs have to put down you first order them and get measured?

2. Do the FOB and FOG where the same one?

I dont remember what had to be put down

But our dads are going to wear the same tux except with bow ties instead of regular ties

Every place is different--it all depends on their store policy. We went to Dante Zeller's for tuxes and they only had to put down $40 for each tux.

I personally dont think the FOB and FOG should wear the same tuxes as the Groomsmen -- they arent part of the bridal party and you do want to distinguish between them. My father is wearing a cumberbund instead of the vests that the guys are wearing and his actual tux is slightly different. FH's dad is wearing a different vest than the guys with a slightly different tux.

I agree, i don't think the fathers need to match the BP, unless they want to do though...and yeah it depends on the place how much you put down, but most of them don't ask for a big down payment, its usually pretty low

Thanks everyone! I actually meant do the FOB and FOG have to both have the same tux as each other not if they should match the BP. Sorry for the confusion. But from your responses I don't think that is necessary.

Oops sorry bout the confusion. No, its not necessary for them to match each other either. Its probably better for them to be a little different. Our fathers are dressing similar, but not the same. Some fathers even like to match their wives. so, for instance, if the MOB is wearing a gold dress, the FOB might wear a black tux with a gold vest. Its all up to the indivisual -- we left it up to the dads and told them to pick whatever they wanted to wear.

While on the topic of tuxes, I have a ring bearer that is 5....do they rent tuxes for such a small age?? I cant see spending buying one for that day.....

Yes, they do rent tuxes for kids age 5. They even rent tuxes for infants. The prices are much lower. we're renting one for a kid age 8 and his will be around $70.

Our tux place basically does it so that you pick up the tux 2 days before the event and then return it the day after the event. So, its a total of a 4 day rental. You can extend it to a longer period of time if you need to, but I'm sure its an extra cost.
