Re: Tuxedo recommendations?

We rented tuxes from VIP (http://www.viptux.com/) in the end, they looked great, but it took about 5 hours on the day before the wedding to get them re-fit. Every one of the tuxes came in with a wrong measurement! My dads pants were like 3 inches above his ankles. Fortunately, the guy working that morning was very good and was able to make the changes needed on the spot. So, I recommend them with a warning that everyone must go in with enough time to have changes made, and that you can't have one person pick up tuxes for everyone!

Re: Tuxedo recommendations?

We are using After Six.

We went to Roosevelt Field location (there are many in LI). There isn't much in the store. You kind of had to pick from catalogs but a friend used them and recommended them.

Plus we like the fact we can put in the order and our groomsmen can go to any location for their fitting and pick up and drop off (LI, NY, Westchester, etc.)>

Re: Tuxedo recommendations?

We are also using VIP. We had no problems with them when we went to pick up the tux for my FH for another wedding we were in. Everyone's sizes were correct.
But I'll be sure that we have enough time now thanks to Valenia.

Re: Tuxedo recommendations?

Not sure where you live but we treked out to NJ to go to Barry's Formalwear because they were the only place we could find where my FH could try on the whole ensemble.

I was shocked to see so many places rented out based on photos in a catalog? I wouldn't buy my dress without trying it on - we weren't going to rent a tux based on how it looked on the model.

Barrys Formalwear, NJ

They were really nice and will come to us to measure, delivere and drop off - so it was only one trip.

After trying on every style in the store, we decieded on this one:

Re: Tuxedo recommendations?

We went to Foresto's in Mineola. It's a family-run place, so we had great service. Their selection isn't huge though, we my FH was able to find what he wanted.

Re: Tuxedo recommendations?

No problem Debbie! (I will tell you my FI's bestman used them for his wedding in November and he had no problems. Just make sure the guys go the two days before the wedding to pick them up and make sure everything is right.)

Re: Tuxedo recommendations?

We used VIP in Syosset for a black tie affair in March and everything worked out well, but their selection wasn't huge

For our wedding we used Bonaventure in Garden City and they were fabulous...they had a bigger selection, but I don't know if there are other places that have an even bigger selection??
