Tuxedo -Syms?

Has any FH's gone to SYMS to just buy a tux?

I know the prices there are about $119 for a basic black. I know that doesn't include any alterations but that might be cheaper than telling them to rent???

Any thoughts/ideas?

FH went there a few years ago & bought a suit...we had a great experience....

I don't remember the cost though....but the service was very good!!

I think its where FH got his tux several years ago. I just don't know if I should recommend it to others. The pricess wll probably be so close it might be worth it for them.

syms is usually the best deal for men's suits.
DH bought his tux shoes there, prices for those were great!

FFIL bought his tux there. The do alts on suits and tuxes for free if its regular alts.

FH bought a suit there and he needed what they call 'extensite seat work' which means he has no arse and needed the hiney of the suit taken in a great deal. The didnt cover that or do that kind or work there. (he took them to a cleaners and got it done for $20-$30 bucks)

I can't believe how inexpensive that is...especially considering the cost of renting....now I'm gonna have to ask my mommy what she thinks...LOL

FH never bought one b/c A) his size always changes and B) b/c if hes in another wedding party he will have to wear the style tux they choose.

But its great for going to black tie weddings or on a cruise or something.

Their prices are great. FFIL got his with bowtie, shirt and all for like under $150 for wool. the problem is, he was at his lowest weight and cant fit in it now so will most likely rent one for our wedding anyway...lol

I guess thats the worst part about buying. What happens if you don't fit into it anymore. LOL.

FH bought his there several years ago as did his father and BIL. His family really only does black tie events and they figured they'd be saving themselves money by just buying.

(They aren't too thrilled that I don't want a black tie wedding - I just don't think its necessary for a Sunday- plus I don't think its fair for guests either).
