tuxedos

I know nothing about them...

Where are good places to go so FH can try on a few and maybe I can help him pick one out (is that how this is done?). Looking in the Mineola area or Western Nassau County. I've heard of Tuxedo Park in Carle Place - but is it too expensive? We want something nice though too. Any suggestions?

How do you pick these out? Just what the groom looks good in and the ushers get something similar? I really know nothing about this... I'm only going with FH, he'll take his guys - that's normal right?

we went to Tuxedo Park and the service is incredible!! they insisted my FH try on the tuxes to see which jacket he liked best, and they had him try on the vest & tie he'd wear and also the vest & tie the groomsmen would wear. They were great!!

It was also the first tux place we went and I love-love-loved how the tux looked on Fh -- he was just concerned it was pricey for a rental. After discounts and stuff the rentals came to $200. Is that typical? We want to take a look at Dante Zeller in Westbury since we got a special there after participating in a Fortunoff'sWedding Survival. But after going to Tuxedo park then looking at the tuxes at After Hours there was no comparison.

We'll probably end up at Tuxedo Park.

we are using Feldman Esquire in Merrick on Merrcik Rd. Michael is very accomodating. He matched the prices we were quoted in another store and is allowing us to pick them up on a Wednesday for a Sunday wedding just in case there is a problem with fit for the groom which he is special ordering from another store.
He does not have an extensive set of styles in the store but if there is a particular one you like he can probably order it and have you come in a few days later to check the fit. Prices started at about $99 and went to about $165 for jos aboud. That's for all except shoes.

Gino's in Farmingdalew was our second choice. They have several styles in house to try on and prices were in same range although I'm not sure if they had aboud, they had Lauren and Calvin Klein.

Dante Zeller has NOTHING to try on in the store. You select 2 styles at a time, they order them and you come back to try them on. We did not like that system.
There is a Dante's of Westbury also on old country rd that has stock in house but we didn't go there so I can't tell you anything else about them.
