tuxedos

fh and i were tlaking bout tux's at a friends bbq last night, and we both agreed mens wearhouse is soooooooooooooo out. we wont even consider that place. fh looked like a disaster in all my bros wedding pix. his pants were scrunched on the bottom. they were like 4 inches too long. he looked like a hoodlum lol

i was wondering if any1 knows how much tux's are to buy?? does bloomies/saks have tuxes or just suits? im sure if i catch them on 1 of their sales it ownt be a lot?

definitely at least $1k.....but sometimes if you catch those places like K&G (or something like that) the men suit places in Farmingdale...anyway you can get a good deal there.

Re: tuxedos

The tux my FH wants is 1450.

His argument is that if I can spend a few grand on a dress, he should be able to have a tux that he will at least wear again.

I can't really argue with him!

Did you try karakos? My brothers friends father owns them. I believe that they sell tuxedos and even have the ability to rent tuxedos.

FH used men's wearhouses for at least 3 weddings and didn't have a problem with any of them. Hmm, maybe we have to rethink this.

My fh and 4 of our groomsmen just bought tuxedos for a wedding they were in on sunday they got some kind of deal because there were 4 of them I think they paid 160 for them and they kept saying how comfortable they were I mean they are your standard black tuxedos and I believe they got them at karakos

Seriously Men's Wearhouse s u c k s the big one. There's a place on Woodhaven and 63rd drive where FH gets all his suits, but I don't know if they do tuxes. I'll try to find out.

SYMS also sells tuxedos, as does Burlington Coach Factory. Not sure on the prices though

Re: tuxedos

I was planning on going to a place in Bayside on Bell Blvd. (the one near Unos and Tiger Shulmans... not the one that keeps moving locations up closer to Northern Blvd.), I assumed they rented... you could just look into local tuxedo shops that rent instead of going to Men's Wearhouse. I remember doing that for the prom and stuff for the guys.
