Tuxedos - Bestman & Users all over

First question - how soon should you rent tuxedos? Second - we have some people that live in NJ and some in NY. How do you coordinate this so everyone is wearing the same style?

Its my understanding that the 'tux' industry has an agreement, sort of a professional curtesy that a gentleman can go to any tux shop in the country and phone in his measurements tot he shop where you fh chooses to order the tuxes. Then he can come get it the day or so b4 the wedding. Correct me if I am wrong but this is what I have heard. jen

There are a few manufacturers and styles that are pretty standard. If you have the make and style number, any major tux shop should be able to provide the right tux. An alternative would be to have their measurements sent to the local shop and have them provide all of them. Then they just pick them up and make a quick check the day before.

We went to pick out the tuxes 2 months before the wedding and then everyone went in and got measured. We had a few out of towners and they got measured close to home and sent the measurements in. Then they can go to the tux shop you are using 2 days before the wedding to make sure everything fits. 2 days allows them to make size changes if necessary but make sure that the out of towners get measured at a local tux shop and don`t just take the measurements themselves. Less margin for error is best in the situation. Good luck.

We used Flowerama in Glendale and they mentioned that their tailor was just a few blocks away and they could do quick adjustments to sizing if necessary. Everything was perfect, so no adjustments were needed, but I'd suggest you find out where your chosen shop does it's tailoring to make sure they are well equiped to do quick fixes.
