Tuxedos -Groom's side

Hi Ladies. I was wondering if the groom's father should wear a tux? My future father in law wants to wear a regular suit.

He doesnt have to. I asked mine if he would and he said yes. I wanted my dad to wear one since he was walking me down the aisle, and all of the brothers were in the bridal party, so all of our family pics look great b/c all the men are in tuxes.

My opinion is tux, but a nice suit would be fine as long as your wedding isn't really formal.

I'll be lucky if I can even get my FFIL in a suit! As of now he plans on wearing a sports coat and pants, maybe a tie!

My FIL probably preferred wearing a suit of his own, but he asked whether he was supposed to wear a tux and we told him that my father and grandfathers were renting tuxes so he rented one as well. I'm glad they all wore tuxes, but I wouldn't have made a big deal out of it if my FIL really wanted to wear a suit. Try asking him to wear a tux and see what he says.

My FFIL is performing the ceremony so at the church he will be wearing his Deacon's Robe, but at the reception he will wear a tux. I think its a nice to have the immidiate family dressed a little more formal then everyone else, it sets them apart.
