Tuxes

Looking at my timeline here and I have no idea when it's appropriate for FH to start looking at tuxes? How far in advance do you do this?? Any suggestions?

Re: Tuxes

its funny bc just 10 mins ago i booked an appointment for this thursday. The reason why we're going now is because FH has an idea for the tuxes, to add his own personal touch. We're going to see how it looks with a tux. Plus its gonna be a surprise for the guys so i am gonna go with him now to see how it looks before he goes with the guys since they can't see it now.

we did ours at the end of Nov, about 3 months before. it actually ended up being one of the easiest things we booked. the 2nd tux FH tried on, we knew that's what he was going to wear.

That's great he wants a personal touch! I think my FH is going basic. He likes my idea of going with the classic bow tie ( I love men in bow ties) So I guess it won't be that difficult. Do most girls go with FH to check it out first? i don't know if he should go alone! lol

I heard you only have to order them 2-3 months before... or at least thats what fh tells me. He's been in many more bridal parties than me so I'll take his word.

yeah he wants something a bit different so for the tie he is using something a bit different...Everything will be traditional except for the tie, and part of the GM gifts at the RD will be the tie and they won't know until the RD what tie they will have. I am going with him bc the guys can't know and he wants to try the tux with the tie, he already bought one tie for himself to see how it looks. And i would love to see how his idea looks, i think it will be great.

its very true, fh has even gotten a tux 2 weeks before when hes been in the BP. 2-3 months is more than enough time

It's good to know FH has time! He's such a procrastinator. His BP is all over the place so I guess i'll work on 3 months to give everyone more then enough notice to get fittings and stuff.

Anyone hear good things about Mens warehouse? Since he has guys all over i figured if we pick a store thats all over the guys can get their tuxes where they live?

I think giving the tie is a great groomsman's gift! Good idea!

Zoe I'm getting married on the same day as you (congrats by the way ) and my FH refuses to go until 3 months before the wedding. I've tried to get him to go now just to get it out of the way, but he insists that all of his friends went three months before and that it was fine.. so that's when we're doing it!

he can even do it in 2 months and he would seriously be fine. I think i know some guys who did it just a little under 2 months.

Men are definitely not like us.. and you're right they don't know what it's like to plan. But I agree with Espo, you could even do it in 2 months or less if you had to (depending on the place of course).

Just keep in mind when you are getting married - if its near prom season you might want to go a little early to get better selection!
