Tuxes

Has anyone been shopping with their guys for tuxes? We went to men's warehouse in massapequa this weekend to find out they only have one size in each tux jacket to try on...which is not FH's size....he was so upset and couldn't believe they didn't have more options... Are all tux places like this?

We are using Black Tie Tuxedos in Smithtown for this exact reason. We went to Men's Warehouse and did not like the fact that they didn't have anything to try on.

Men's Warehouse rents their tuxes out where smaller place actually own their tuxs so they have them in stock to try on.

FH wanted to try on the whole thing, shirt (pleated and non), pants (slim fit and pleated) and the jackets because he wasn't exactly sure what he wanted.

AND they were way cheaper then Men's. I would call a few places around you and see if they have them in stock to try on.

Re: Tuxes

Tuxedo Park in Carle Place was great when we went. Only thing was you can't look through ALL the styles (they have someone help you) but it's good if you know what you want going in.

Joseph a banks is similar to mw except on top of that they have no onsite tailors should things go wrong. I was in the tuxedo rental industry for a long time, consider everything! Most places that carry things in store don't restock. Mw gets new stock constantly, but it's in warehouses. Day of garments will be more worn if the company uses the garments for try on too.

All the complaints about mw getting things wrong on pickup is explained at fitting general sizes are taken and its expected to have to alter the length of the pants and sleeves, these alterations take minutes and they're no charge.

Our guys are getting their tuxes at another place in massapequa. I forget the name but its right across the street from the pizzeria he works at, on Broadway. He tried on the whole outfit in his size, with different shirt and vest combos, basically whatever we wanted to see
