I am an identical twin....there are no twins in the family...it was a fluke! Boy, were my parents surprised...they only had 1 crib, 1 stroller, etc. We shared a crib for the first few months until they could get another one. Mom only gained 13 lbs with us....they didn't do sono's back then...it was a surprise to everyone!
THe nurse practitioner at my OB/GYN's office told me that there is a higher (only slight) incidence of twins if you get pregnant right after coming off the birth control pill, so she advises people to wait at least 3 cycles before TTC.

Yes, twins run on both sides. My side: my mom is a twin and my dad's dad was twin. On FH's side, his first cousin's are twins and the twins had twins!!
My sister ( half sister) had twins and my greatgrandmother had twins so it just may be in both of my sides....as far as FH just his cousin so I think thats too far removed...
My mom is a twin. It seems to skip every generation on her side. But so far, neither me, my sister, or brother have had twins. And between the three of us, we've had 6 children.
FH's maternal grandmother had two set of twins.
My husband's Dad is an identical twin. My DH thinks he has super sperm and thinks we are going to have twins... I crack up, let's just practice and then we can worry about it.
My dh's uncles are twins!
