Re: TWO QUICK QUESTIONS!!! :o)

I did Fortunoff and Crate and Barrel. I think you should register in at least two places, just to make it easier for people shopping. If you have guests coming from different locations, try and register and two stores that cover the places they are coming from.

I attended a shower last year where the bride registered at one of those small one location only department stores (Berta in Brooklyn) and it made it really difficult to shop for her because there was no website and everyone had to travel to Brooklyn to get the gifts. She wound up not getting a lot off her registry for that reason.

Re: TWO QUICK QUESTIONS!!! :o)

I was afraid of that too. Just use each store only for the things that you feel they do best. At Fortunoff I registered for my appliances, china, crystal, linens, and pots and pans. I registered at Crate and Barrel for my everyday dishes, barware...and the rest of the 'fun' stuff. Once you're done registering you can put the lists next to eachother, cross off what you may have repeated, and fix everything online. It's great!

Re: TWO QUICK QUESTIONS!!! :o)

I made the mistake of registering at 2 places;Fortunoffs and JC Pennys. It is silly. I should have had everything on my one registry. But that is JMO.

Re: TWO QUICK QUESTIONS!!! :o)

I think as long as you have different things on your registry, it's OK, like Mistyeyed said, Crate&Barrel is for more 'fun' stuff.
I like a lot of their barware too, and vases. . . .
Michele, did you put the same things on both registries?

Re: TWO QUICK QUESTIONS!!! :o)

I also registered at Fortunoff and Crate and Barrel. I am very happy that we did b/c it gave our guests a nice variety of choices and price ranges to fit every budget. I was lucky enough to receive all of my formal china, silver and stemware from Fortunoff as gifts, and with gift certs and money, we purchased our everyday dishes and flatware from Crate and Barrel.

Re: TWO QUICK QUESTIONS!!! :o)

I registered at two places, Fortunoff and Linens n' Things. Just make sure you pick out things with different price ranges at both places.

Re: TWO QUICK QUESTIONS!!! :o)

I did Macys and Crate and Barrel. I do not think it is a problem to register at one place though. I didn't register for much at Crate and Barrel. I think just my everyday dishes and glasses and a lot of barware and smaller cute things.

Re: TWO QUICK QUESTIONS!!! :o)

Thanks everyone! I will have to check out other places I guess, I'm actually not thrilled with Fortunoff's everyday dishes and stuff

Fortunoff is good for fancy, I may have to branch out

Re: TWO QUICK QUESTIONS!!! :o)

Same for me! I definitely felt limited by Fortunoff's everyday selections...and again, that's why I felt that C&B offered more options.

I forgot to mention that I had originally registered at Bed, Bath & Beyond as an alternate to Fortunoff, but I had to cancel it b/c they sent me a discontinuation notice about once a month. I started to get worried that most of my selections wouldn't be available when it came time for my shower and the wedding.

Re: TWO QUICK QUESTIONS!!! :o)

We registered at 3 places:Macy's, JC Penny's and Bed,Bath & Beyond. We didn't have any problems with 2 of the stores. JC Penney gave us a really hard time with our returns even though we had gift receipts. We got a couple of dupicates. I guess some people forgot to get it taken off the registry. Some people didn't even go by the registry and we had to return things because we already had them.
