Hi girls! I need your opinions. My FH and I are planning a wedding and reception in LI since that is where he is from. I'm from Ohio and want to include my family that can't make the trip. We are thinking about having another reception in Ohio. Do you think this is approprate? Or am I just going to go crazy planning two events in two different states??

ive def heard of girls doing this, me personally i feel like itd be kinda wierd, like the first one would be really special cuz we just got married etc, but then the second one i gotta put the dress on again and get all glammed up again without the ceremony, it'd be a wierd feeling, not necessarily bad but just werid lol
if its in your budget than go for it!!
unless the 2nd one isnt going to be as big and full out?

We are having 2 receptions also. We will be living in Florida by the time of the wedding so we are having one there for family and friends who can't make the trip to NY.

I think it's perfectly fine if that is what you want to do.
However, if you feel like it is going to be a lot of pressure, could you make the second one much smaller? Perhaps at a restaurant instead of going all out? Or an outdoor event or something?

I don't think its necessary, but maybe have a dinner to celebrate with everyone there. Its not a terrible idea, but you don't HAVE to do it. Of course unless you want to and most ppl in Ohio cannot make it to NY.
