I have two older sisters. Both married w/ kids. One lives here, one a few hours away. I'm really really close with the one here and really really NOT close with the far away one. We're having a really small wedding with no bridal party except for MOH & BM. My FH is having his only bro and I'd like to have my one sister, but I know how that's going to go over. I have two girlffriends I would include before my other sister. Am I being terribly mean? Would you stick with your 1 MOH plan or try to not rock the boat? Any other ideas or suggestions?
Help! I'm stressing!!!

keep the sister youre close with as your MOH... this is your day... you cant please everyone
I would just keep the sister you are closest too. Just explain to the other one that you aren't have a bp and picked the other sister b/c she lives closer to you and is more available.

I'm an only child, but I know that many siblings are closer in families than others (my FH's is a good example) So keep the sister that you are closer with as your MOH. Also, who did your sisters have as MOHs for their weddings?

If your sister is the type to be ok with it, I say stick with the one MOH plan. If not, I had both of my sisters as my MOHs. I couldn't pick just one of them even though I am closer to one than the other. When it was all said and done, I couldn't have picked two other people I wanted on the altar with me when I married DH!

i may be the odd ball here but i would have two moh and have them both in
i know i dont know the history between u guys but unless u r 100 percent sure she would not want to be a member of ur bridal party then i would include her
in 10 yeasr things could be diffrent and u might regret not having her with you up there
now in sayuing this if she would not want to be a part then by al lmeans dont include her but i would talk to her first

I agree. I have two older sisters. They're MUCH older than me (12 and 14 years) so I'm not really super close with either of them. But they're both MOH's, because in the end, no matter what, they're my sisters. And there's nothing wrong with two MOH's and one best man.......that's what I'm doing.

FH had a similar problem. He has 2 brothers and I wanted him to have only 1 best man. He wanted both, but I wanted everything to be balanced and even. Just the way I am. The kicker for me though was that the brother that he felt bad about not asking actually had 2 best men for his wedding and asked the other brother and a cousin. Not FH!!! FH is too nice! So anyway, I think it would be ok to ask the one you're closer to.

Re: Two Sisters - One MOH
as a disclaimer, I'm an only child. However, im also having a small bridal party (one matron/one maid of honor) so I understand where you are coming from. I think you might be able to play it off with just having one by using the distance as a factor. Tell your other sister that she's obviously really important to you and want her involved but you're trying to keep it simple, yada yada yada... then ask her to do a reading at the ceremony so she can be involved that way. Then you can keep the bridal party size as intended and it does seem like distance is your deciding factor. just an idea...

Re: Two Sisters - One MOH
My sisters are 6 and 9 years older than me and the eldest (the one far away) moved away when I was still in high school. I see her a couple of times a year for a few hours here and there. We talk on the phone once a month (if that). We're getting married on the boat with 40+ people so there really won't be a processional or anything like that...does that change opinions?
Thanks ladies...

I have 2 sisters too. IDK If you plan on having children or anything but I had one of my sisters be the godmother to y daughter and the other is going to be my MOH. SO maybe let your other sister know she is also important to you by offering another important position. You could all so go with 2 MOH, and there is no need for another BM he could walk with one on each arm. Also look at who your sisters used a their MOH. Just remember they are your sisters and if they love you they will understand and respect any decision you make.

I have two sisters and they were both my MOH. But I understand what you are saying and your situation. What if you ask your mom or the sister you are close to and see how they think it will go over?
Maybe have the other sister do a reading or something?

Re: Two Sisters - One MOH
What did your other sisters do when they got married? Did they each just have one MOH? If they each did one, then they clearly 'picked' one sister over the other, and you can do the same. If they both had both you AND the remaining sister, then I would do two MOH.

I was a BM in the first (I was like 16 years old) and a MOH in the second while my other sis was the Matron OH (I was 17). I'm now 38 and barely even remember being in their weddings. I also don't see either of them wanting to go get a BM dress.
I guess you have a good point, though. Some battles may not be worth fighting

Re: Two Sisters - One MOH
Honestly, I would include both sisters. I could not imagine not being in my sister's wedding no matter how close/ not close. JMO
