Did anyone ever go to a wedding where the bride changed into another dress? A friend of mine is considering doing this..I thought about the idea...and it seems different. Maybe wear a full ball gown in the beginning and change into something lighter at the end? What do you think?

I've only been to one wedding where this was done..but my uncle married a chinese woman...and during the ceremony she wore a white gown..during the reception she changed into a gorgeous red oriental dress that her mother had bought her....

yeah some brides now even do 3 dresses...For me i think that will take away too much time from your reception...You already spend time with first dance, father/daughter dance, toasts, cake cutting and so on, then greeting everyone...I want to also enjoy my wedding and uhmmm wedding dresses are not the easiest to get out of or put on so it will take time.
Plus if i am going to spend alot of money on a dress I am wearing it all day, not just an hour for the ceremony.

Tell me about it....I get all hot and sweaty just trying to pull ONE of them over my head...I havent found my dress yet...and its probably because I can only stand trying three on at a time, before my arms turn red and my face starts sweatingggg

Re: Two wedding dresses?
My FH and I are considering BOTH changing for what he likes to call 'crazy Hour'.... after all the cutting of cakes and such. We will only do this however if the bridal suite is right next to our reception room.... we dont want to miss any of the fun...
Also, lots of couples used to change at the end of the reception as a part of their departure into their get away car to the honeymoon. ( Back in the day )

Yes--my cousin did it. She changed into a short dress for her after party.

Yeah ALOT of people dont realize how difficult it can be...ANd especially with ball gowns and if you get a certain bustle done. Honestly i will probably have a hard time taking my dress off at the end of the night, ill be all sad lol

Re: Two wedding dresses?
I'm changing into a second dress after the cake cutting. It's a short dress, it matches the designs on my gown and tiara. I just can't see myself dancing the rest of the night in my big princess gown! I thought about it for months now, after my fitting on Saturday, I decided it's best! Besides, I want to shoe off my shoes...

Personally, unless it was a tradition (like many Chinese brides) I wouldn't do it. Wedding gowns are expensive when you consider they will only be worn once. Why buy a second dress that can only be worn once?? Furthermore, do you truly want your pictures to look like they came from two different weddings?????

Re: Two wedding dresses?
I was thinking about doing this. But the thing is I would rather stay in my wedding dress for the whole night cause it's the only time I will get to wear it and also it will take me away from the reception and I don't want to miss anything while I am changing.
