TWOTY

Original post by LIWeddings

No, this isn't what you think it is.

I had an idea and would like your feedback.
Please only answer/vote if you plan on going to TWOTY.

Should we;
1) Post the tickets for sale around 10pm on a random weeknight and whoever gets them, gets them?
2) Allow everyone who wants to go to TWOTY register over a 24 hour period of time - then have the computer select 200 people randomly?

I thought of this in an attempt to be fair to everyone who would like to go.

Either way there will be one table only for newlyweds.

Lets keep in mind the reason TWOTY came into existence. It isn't just a party. It was a way for brides to be to see a soup to nuts wedding and get ideas for their wedding, win some prizes they could use towards their wedding and meet some of the other brides.

YES!!! I am desperate for ideas and nuts and bolts!! I work full time and go to law school in the evenings..im desperately trying to pull this wedding off in under a year!!

thank goodness for TWOTY!!!

I agree 100%. I'm a doctor and my hours are revolting, hense the need for a long engagement. And also why i voted for the random ticket picker, since i could very well be working at 10pm or whenever tickets go on sale. If the reason behind TWOTY is to get inspired, and see a soup to nuts wedding, then it should be for those who dont have any vendors yet. It stinks that the 2011ers can only go to one more this year, but for the most part they have all they need. Maybe the NW limit should be raised (i dunno how many people total go, but thats just a thought).
As for the minimium number of posts you need, i agree there should be a number....but someone recommended in the thousands...thats a little excessive. I'm on this site as much as i can and i'm not even there yet. People have jobs, families, non-internet lives...does that mean their weddingplanning or devotion to LIW is any less? I think not. Maybe 100 is a little low for a min, but i think 1000+ is a little high.

I hear ya! im a 2011 bride and haven't booked anything except the RH....

Hey Ron, we are about 200 votes...

I say only people who participated in the Poll get considered to go

(kidding)

I say people who give their unsolicited $.02 shouldn't go!

ahh, but you see, you created this thread to help decide the best way to handle tickets, and it is offering another option to consider, so therefore, its not unsolicited is it?

okay okay!

if were gonna get technical this was only to decide on 10 pm or random

Why can't the tickets be sold in tiers?

Ticket sales open up to people with over 5000.
then like 2 hours later, anyone over 3000.
then 2 hours after that, everyone over 1000.

All the way down to the usual 100.

Not a bad idea
