TY Cards - Question about the Names

We're ordering out TY cards now and they will have our name on the front of them.

So, should it say

Eileen and Brett Lxxxxx
OR
Brett and Eileen Lxxxxx

Help

I voted girl because I've been told by numerous people that the girl always goes first... however I always sign everything Gregg & Lisa XXXX. I never use 'Lisa & Gregg xxxxx'

I know, that's why it's confusing... It's still wedding-related BUT it's after the wedding... which rules apply??

Ahhhhhhh, it's these annoying little details that are going to put me over the edge.

i was always told that the mans name goes first after you get married...

On all of my TY I did my name first - I was always told that the girl's name is first.

I was told by the invitation store that on our thank yous the girl's name goes first. my parents have TYs with their names on them, and they've been married for over 30 years, with my Mom's name first. If you choose to put it the other way though, I don't think it's a big deal. I doubt anybody would get the thank you and think 'how silly! she put the names in the wrong order', but to be on the safe side I'd say girl first.

I always put James and MaryAnn. My mom always does it that way. Maybe it's old fashioned but it's also alphabetical.

I ordered mine when I got my invites and we put my name first... I always sign things Annie & Joel unless it's to someone on his side of the family

In my opinion, for the wedding girls name ALWAYS first (invitations, etc). But once you are married Guys name first.

I DITTO this!!! Culturally for me it's 'bad' to put your name before you husband's so I always sign his name first. I am though going to have all our wedding stuff with mine first.

When I sign cards from us and I'm just using first names, which is what I usually do (birthday cards, thank you cards) I sign:

Susan & Wayne

although if the card is for his side I sign it Wayne & Susan

But I think if I was signing our full names, I would sign

Wayne & Susan Hxxxxxx
