Types of Wedding Ceremonies

Hello!

I need some help choosing what kind of ceremony to have. I know basics of what is what, but can someone please explain or compare what a catholic, civil, and symbolic ceremony are? Thanks!!

sure it all depends what you want:

if you're religious and are having your ceremony at a church, you may not have a choice other than to have a catholic ceremony. You'll need to figure out if you want a full mass or not though.

Civil is just a non-religious ceremony. These are often held at the reception hall itself. It is more spiritual and generally doesn't involve God / religious things.

Not sure what symbolic means ... i think that's just a civil ceremony (?)

good luck with everything

Well we're planning on having a destination wedding and 'symbolic ceremony' keeps coming up as far as picking what you want... So I'm glad I'm not the only one that doesn't really know what that is... lol...

in terms of DW

i'm pretty sure symbolic means you have a ceremony but you are not legally married, no papers filed or anything
