WORLD EXCLUSIVE: Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes — it’s over! Life & Style has learned exclusively that Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have agreed to call off their wedding — and, ultimately, to split.
Multiple insiders confirmed the story to Life & Style, with one longtime friend of Tom’s saying: “Their relationship is basically over.” Another friend adds: “They both agreed that the marriage wouldn’t work and they wanted to end it before they learned to hate each other.”
The insiders say that Tom, 43, and Katie, 27, plan to keep up the charade of a romance until after their baby’s birth this spring. In the meantime, the couple will live in his Beverly Hills home — though sleeping in separate bedrooms — through the summer. Then, presumably, they’ll announce a separation — but Tom plans to buy Katie a home nearby so he can visit his child whenever he wishes.
“They’ll share custody,” says the friend, who claims the couple are drawing up a legal document to provide for Katie’s and the baby’s financial well-being for life. “Tom will set up Katie and the baby,” adds the pal.

Not true. That's what Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes said Tuesday about a Valentine's Day report on the Life & Style magazine Web site, which claimed Cruise and Holmes had split up and called off their wedding.
'It should be known that the story is 100 percent false,' Arnold Robinson, a publicist for the couple, said in a statement. 'Mr. Cruise and Ms. Holmes are still engaged and are moving forward with their wedding plans, as well as planning for the arrival of their child.'
The Feb. 27 issue, which will be on news stands Friday, said the public pair 'plan to keep up the charade of their romance until after their baby's birth this spring.'
Holmes, 27, and Cruise, 43, have been engaged since June. They announced their pregnancy in October.
'Despite the malicious fallacies put forth by Life & Style magazine, the couple is looking forward to a long and happy life together as a family,' Robinson said.
A representative for the magazine said the story was accurate: 'We stand 100 percent behind our story.'
The magazine said its story was based on information from two unnamed friends of Cruise. 'So right now they're together but not together. It's a really weird situation and unhealthy for both of them,' one of those purported friends is quoted as saying.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Hollywood lovebirds Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes remain engaged to be married and are proceeding with wedding plans, his publicist said on Tuesday, denying a Valentine's Day report to the contrary.
'It should be known that the story (of a breakup) is 100 percent false,' spokesman Paul Bloch said in a statement sent to news agencies in response to the report, from celebrity magazine Life & Style.
'Mr. Cruise and Ms. Holmes are still engaged and are moving forward with their wedding plans, as well as planning for the arrival of their child. Despite the malicious fallacies put forth ... the couple is looking forward to a long and happy life together as a family.'

They supposedly are being advised to sue the mag that published that since supposedly it's not true (I read it in the Daily News today). I was kind of hoping it was true!!!

I don't get it really, I've read it all and it doesn't sum up... something is fishy here...... was this a ploy for thier careers and she was pregnant by someone else or something???/ a cover up to make them more money...??? have to wonder..

I don't even think she is really pregnant...look at the pics...isn't she supposed to be about 7-8 months...she looks the same as she did at 4-5...She is stuffing herself with a pillow......
And to cover it...they will say she lost the baby

So wacky. My FH thinks this all a media ploy since Tom's new movie Mission Impossible is coming out. Who knows.
The kid will have a fine life, I think Tom will be very involved in his life.
