This is a long rant but I have to get it off my chest. When my mother got married she was only 20 and she listened to everything everyone told her to do. So I think she regrets not doing the things she wanted. When I started planning my wedding she kept suggesting things that I absolutely hate so I told her thanks for your suggestions but it's my wedding and I'm going to do teh things that I like. So now everytime I ask her about wedding stuff she gets all nasty and makes comments. For example I asked when can she go this month to shop for my gown Her response: You're making abig mistake! It's too early!!! I never said I was buying it, I just want to look. Just now I told her about the cameras for the table and the lists people give to take pictures her response: If you wan to waste your money like that go ahead, but I think it's dumb. When I ask why she says that, she says well because it's your wedding, I wouldn't want to interfere! It's really annoying and I do want her help but I just don't want her to turn it into her 'do-over' wedding. Sorry this is long but uggghhhh she's so annoying!!!!!!

its so funny, mothers can be your best friend at times but they can also be your worst enemy. My mother makes me feel that I always need to have her approval before I can do something. Its ridiculous, she gives me that disapproving look and it makes me feel like whatever I am doing is wrong

I am 23 years old and when I cam back from booking my hall i was SO EXCITED and the first thing my mom said was 'before you booked it you should have an adult go with you'
AN ADULT!!!!!!! LMAO!!!!!!!
she does that for everything now - every time i look at something she is like maybe your FMIL can help you with that!
i can laugh now but in the moment i freak out!

lol...I think that parents see us as children no matter what age. I feel the same way sometimes....I want to say, uh, I'm 26, I am an adult. LOL

awww thanks girls!!! Now that I think of it I don't think my mom realizes that things cost alot more than they did in 1981! Plus people do so many fun and creative things these days - my parents think everything is a waste of money. I feel much better now - so thanks!!!

omg are you guys sure we don't all have the same mother? mine is everything all your mom's are in one neat package
my mom keeps trying to force us to get married at city hall!!!! you would think that since i'm the only daughter she'd want us to have a nice wedding...omg she's trying to live through me or something...but i wanna strap her to a rocket and blast her into space!!!
